I'll be giving you your briefings during the course of next week so you might want to base your squad plans around intel.

Ok, I've just based it as closely as I can think to a typical US platoon.

Which is what I've already said!

Yay I'm a medic again. Maybe I'll bring the carbine this time to do all the running around.

Can we just make sure that if you want to move to another squad please ask so we can change it around, rather than arranging it yourselves... speirs...

OK, what we could do with are squad leaders. I certainly won't be micro-managing squads on this one, so it would be useful.

We need a person from each squad who's not shy, has a loud voice and is happy to take the lead and, more importantly, follow orders. Accurate and efficient communication up and down the chain of command is going to be vital on this one, so please step forward if you'd like to volunteer.

Many thanks

HS

Put me down for 1st Squad - my lot are already aware (and are happy) of that.

OK. BTW, squad size and order is subject to change over the next week depending on battle orders.....

I'm looking at the possiblity of 4 smaller squads to create more flexibility.

How many of you use pyros?

I'm thinking about putting a bulk order in with Dave, think it would probably work out at 4 ball grenades for £10

I know I don't usually use pyros much, but after reading WW2 infantry tactics books, I think that we should be using them a lot more. You'll notice that the Germans use pyros quite a bit, and they use them effectively.

I'm sure you dont all need to be told the advantages of using them, it's whether the advantage justifies parting with your money for them.

Let me know whether you're interested in having some, just so I know how many to get off him.

It's your call but think about the briefings I have given and how pyro fits with that.

What is the effective range of a grenade vs rifle or m/g?
How far can you lob grenades in woods?
Are your roles defensive or offensive?
Would smoke screens be useful for tactical withdrawal/regrouping or target obscuration or distraction/misdirection?

I can throw a ball grenade further than an AEG can shoot
Not very far without playing pin-ball with the trees
Offence is the best form of defence
Who said anything about withdrawing!

hehe :)

Points taken on board CW :good:

Hi guys, due to an ill family member i am pulling out of the Autumn Mist game. I have put my place up for sale in the relevant forum.

Apologies if that causes issues with squad numbers, and i will d my best to fill the place as quickly as possible.

Ok here we go, sorry if I've missed anybody off, or if you're in a fireteam where you're not with your mates, let myself or HS know and we'll shuffle it about.

Dead unhappy with that mate, read your own posts all I said to Matt was if he wanted to move then ask you. That's incredibly unfair, no where does it specify to use the forum not PM and the post specifically said to contact HS or Webby. Not to discuss it openly.

Please read what you've posted previously in future before you blatantly accuse me for causing trouble.

Heh! Don't take it so seriously! It's only a little dig! If you want to talk about bringing people on your team then it only makes sense to contact the people forming the teams doesn't it!?

Ok fair enough, but I contacted Matt because I didn't know whether he would want to swap and said that if he would like to, then the best course of action would be to contact you (seen as me and him made a good team at Husky, taking the second hill over looking the Brit advance on our own)...and otherwise to leave it as it was.
Just don't like being singled out.

Anyway moan over :good:
