Waah So biased ;)

I'd say dutch boys but I have very little in the way of 40s clothing (does anyone?) I suppose a Gymnastiorka could possibly pass for Polish kit? :D

Well this is the mute point isn't it. As there are very few Ruskie reenactors I would expect there to be a fit in somewhere simply to include as many people as possible.

I appreciate the idea is to reenact as well as airsoft but I understood that to be within the realms of inclusion rather than exclusion :) Id hate us to wander towards the stitch counting brigade. However I do understand that you want to maintain an element of realism here. Its a tough one.

Anyway I've had a look at polish uniforms and they do appear very like Russian Gymnastiorka shirts so its possible I could get away with that (id remove all Soviet symbols etc). Its your decision. Other than that I am probably out as I've had to sell all my US gear (or at least the major parts have now been sold).

I'm sorry but there weren't Russian troops at Arnhem . There weren't any US troops there either, hence why the choice of sides is German or British/Polish , which represents the two main combatant sides, despite there being a large number of good quality US players .

We appreciate buying the kit and weapons is a major undertaking, hence why we try to be as flexible as we can , and for the next two events have also included Resistance worker's , which can be a little as a pair of brown wool trousers and a jumper or coat picked up at a charity shop for less than a tenner. We also really appreciate the people who are investing their time and money in getting together the required look , and therefore have to have one rule for all .

I don't think we're being stitch counters, as our rules are pretty inclusive, but in the final analysis we want to do Arnhem and we want to do it full justice within the bounds of an airsoft event . Everyone made the effort at the Bulge and it was awsome to behold . We feel it's worth having a standard to aim for, otherwise as Gadge says, it becomes a bit of an open skirmish in WWII kit .

Perhaps with one or two items of german clothing like a smock & hat you could pass for a eastern front veteran with a fondness for russian gear?

Hey woa. easy there killer. Im not trying to say You should have a russian player nor was I accusing anyone of being a stitch counter. This is not an attack nor a go at anyone or any way of doing things. I was merely posting my thoughts on the possible dangers. Simple as. :)

I entirely understand your reasons for doing things this way. All Im trying to do is work out what can I feasibly do with the kit & finances I have at my disposal (ie would a russian Gymnastroika shirt be acceptable as a polish uniform or not). Im not asking if I can play a russian (again) or anything else as I understand the point :) We're all friends here :)

Ommmmmmmmmmmmm

Edit : Just read the above post too. Hmm I may have the finances to stretch to that too. Im open to suggestions.

Try and be Dutch resistance Digs. It not like 'I haven't got Brit kit and I haven't got German kit so I'll have to go second-best as Resistance'. The resistance will be as integral to the game as regular forces - with perhaps some added adrenelin!

It'll cost hardly anything perhaps nothing at all.

True to say, there has been a lot of discusion within CiA about the feasability of running a game as Brit/German given the few existing players with Brit kit. In the same way that we thought there would be a problem getting enough Axis for the BotB game - but players rallied round, got enthused and sorted the kit. So far it looks like this game is coming good (and booking has only been announced in the last two or three days). US has always been a favourite impression within the WW2 airsoft niche - now there is a good pool of Axis, a building pool of Brits now - all leading to a much higher density of games and sites to play at and wider scenario possibilities!

US have been excluded from this April game, the next one will have US, UK and Axis and ideas are being floated for Stalindrad - so your time may come!

Deffo Diggah

The main thing was trying to make it inclusive as we've said but keep it true to form as well...

Unfortuantly by 44 polish forces wore Uk kit in every repsect other than the beret.

the only way i could possibly think of fitting you in is an an escpaed russian POW on the resistance side but that would mean only having your smock and trousers as any 'war' gear would have been knicked.

But as said i'm pushing for Stalingrad game with the min requirements being a grey or bronw greatcoat and a pair of brown or grey trousers this winter!

I'm sure that contravenes the Geneva Convention, as well as being far too much information  , unless its lost in translation .
