cool, a visit to urban to check it out would be good.

WWII kit perchance?

21st Jan should be good for me to go to Phoenix. We need to have a look at LFU2 as well reasonably soon .
Yes to wearing period kit IMHO , any advertising is good . !

no idea on LFU2 dates... Shaun hasn't got the license yet. As soon as he has the paperwork we should know whats happening...

21st is fine by me... but if LFU2 is having its opening event that day I'd prefer to be there if possible... old friends, new site... you know!

Okay... I had a chat with Shaun & Sean yesterday... they were impressed with the 50 or so people we got for our event...

Their new site is here: http://www.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?client=public&X=429500&Y=390000&width=700&height=400&gride=429500&gridn=390000&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=&pc=&zm=0&scale=10000&multimap.x=268&multimap.y=192

It consists of the two factory areas on either side of the river and some of the surrounding woods... not the modern building to the West of course...

The existing bridge on the river is unfortunately not in the game area, but they do plan to build a bridge within the game area to connect the two factories. Talk was to get this done by the summer. Though I suspect it could take longer. These things always seem to take that bit longer...

The factory buildings are long and complicated with access to both ground and upper floors.

I mentioned that we'd be wanting to check out both LFU and Phoenix Urban for the event, and Shaun seemed happy with this. He also said Phoenix Urban was a good site... as long as we ran the game, not the current guys... Which I believe is the plan anyway! :)

Sounds good, any idea when they will have their first day there?

PS I'm really glad they didn't see us looking at Phoenix as a problem, I don't want us to get involved in other peoples squabbles as these things nearly always ends in tears . Hopefully it looks like the rift between the two sites has been healed a bit .

Hmmm, i dont know i think we just insist on taking the 'swiss' position where all sites are involved :)

I cant see Dave G and Sean ever getting on again.

No idea when the first day will be... 21st does look possible though! heh... 28th as well... basically because they've not said where they'll be playing yet... Its a wait for documentation basically... a bit like F&O with the forrestry commission and we know how long that took!

Hmmm... "happy" may not have been the right word... "not totally unhappy" might have been better...

Yes Gadge, you're right, there's no way to fix the rift between Dave and Shaun...

Hmm, Steiner has dropped a bombshell! No idea who he is or what he has organised but he has appeared to have booked Phoenix Urban in May. Bi-annual - WTF? I'll get on to Dave/Jeff and find out what the crack is.

see my post on the thread , I think this is an invite to some sort of open weekend , rather than anything WWII specific .
Minds you it's a timely reminder to get off our asses and get going with our events.

Yes, i think so.

Probably my fault for suggesting we descened an open day en masse in kit.

(i was hoping it would get more and more folk interested, its all very well seeing one or two but if folk saw eight or so then they'd realise it wasnt so hard to do)

No, it's not an open day/weekend - it's something they/he appears to have organised.

WTF ???

I thought along same lines as Gadge, it was an invite to an open day .
I think we need clarification from Steiner as to what it is . Looks just like a "skirmish in silly kit" to me at the mo . If it is that it'll need to go to the other events end of the forum .

I think we need to play at both sites first... then thrash ideas out in detail.

Maybe a chat at stoneleigh would be worth it... but as a secondary thing to the buying spree :)

Going to have to get on with pre-publicity ASAP - imperitive that we sort the next game site sooner rather than later.

I haven't had word back yet on what Steiner is up to - I suspect it's kite flying but the notion of a weekender 'open' event is most odd. I'll get back to you all when I know the score...

agreed... 21st at Phoenix... LFU as soon as possible after that! Hopefully early feb.

Then quick discussion to decide site, then talk to site owners and start advertising
