I was thinking a 1ft by 1ft German cross (balkan cross, you know the black and white type?) and some vehicle numbers in red with white edging you know like 214 etc....

And yith suggested draping a german flag 'air recognition' style over the bonnet.

Basically it all helps set the scen, phonix say we can put radio detnated pyros on the van too... so the allies can blow it up with Kermits PIAT

(dying to see the promo pics btw)

Van will be ok just as an APC i reckon, its more important to get that pschological thing of being attacked by motorised troops.

Shame we cant get some water based sand paint to cam it.....

We need signs like these for a start as well.

(streetsigns for the area around the bridge)

Marktstraat (street facing the bridge ramp)
Westervoortsedjik
Nijmeegseweg (the street the bridge *is*)
Grote Markt (big open space near bridge)

and if we can these woudl add to atmophere....

Waffen ss dutch recruitman posters
(all in Dutch though)
Bridge 2k >
Van Limburg School
Oosterbeek
Wolfheze
Heveadorp ferry

These woudl make great key locations to feel you were fightingover *something*

Gas works
Bank
Town Hall
Sweetshop
Bakers
Hartenstein Hotel
Hospital
Police Station

Slightly off topic - good to see Rob has got things rolling in Cornwall. Pretty much lifted out entire rule structure, I take that as a compliment - clearly we got something right!

More pertinently, he is floating a cost of

It's OK Gadge, all of that is no problem.

Ah, the photos! Started on them today and they are looking good (had two client meetings which wasted soooooo much time  ). I know you and Rich are dying to post more photies of your good selves - you will have to wait 'til tomorrow!

It's all cracking along , although I'm concerned about this transit thing . If you want a mil vehicle why not considered my LR ? I've used it, and coordinated vehicles at quite a few airsoft events .
Could take the roof & doors, plus other obvious LR bits off and cover it in camouflage netting . Ok its way post war but at least it could pass for a military jeep/ kuble/ horch with some imagination Could even consider giving it a wash over in sand . A transit.....I'm struggling to see it as anything but funny barring sight of it .

PS I've also got a pal in London with a 101GS which might look quite good as well, although we'd have to negotiate a rate for petrol for him to bring it up to Derbyshire.

I think the transit will be ok, its a concept and a neccesity to move 10 players in protection
we can put cam net round the top to make it look less van liek if neccesary
But your landrover and the transit would be even better.

Will go with the flow , just a bit of an MV stitch nazi me !

BTW does someone want to invite Gucci and Major to come along as a freebie as discused earlier ?

Finally , have not decided whether to play German or Brit as yet so not booked in . Perhaps see how the numbers go .

Finally I like the idea od Dutch resistance workers , perhpas give that a go ?

I think the idea of Dutch Resistance will appeal and can't see a problem filling the Allied side at all - balancing the numbers with Germans may be the sticking point. We shall see...

General appeal. Please consider making full use of radios in game. The reality is that both sides had sophisticated (for the day) radio systems and Axis would have had full hard-wired telephonic systems too.

The site is huge - I couldn't get hardly anyone to work as runners at F&O and that is a small site, and even if they could be arsed at PU they would soon get fed up given the potential distances involved.

Cripple them if necessary (as Gadge suggested by weighing packs down) or make their positions fixed only. Clearly everyone with PMRs would be a nonsense but CP's/squad commanders/mortar team leaders must be fine?

But ... the radio's wern't working! The terrain in the area buggered up all comms... I'm not sure but some crystals in the radios also didn't work.

It was a while before they got them working.

Perhaps don't allow radios on the Brit side in the morning, allow them in the afternoon though. Maybe make it an objective to get new crystals... etc?

The Germans did have good comms...
