How good is all this eh?
Two months to go and we're more or less full up wiht a hefty ammount oif deposits in.
AND. . . the ammount of effort going in form the guys far surpasses what i ever expected we'd get , its like the 'counts as' rule has taken folks fear of giving it a go away and made everyone realise that what they thught might be 'not good enough' is actually brillaint.
Cant tell you how excited about this coming game i am guys...

While I am pleased at the higher numbers of Germans (and better kit) than BotB I am frankly astounded that so many have jumped into the British fold, I doubted it would happen and was sure the Dutch would have to be relied on to balance numbers. How wrong I was! More Brits needed of course but plenty of time...
Hehe, I've got a WW2 game in April, weekender in May, weekender in June and I don't feel at all inclined to do any open days at all now!
Funnily enough i was talking to my mate John and saying four or five wwII days a year will do me fine, these days all that high speed cordura and molle business seems incredibly boring comapred to serge and webbing!

I've almost given up on open days. Same old games, same old problems. I'm after intelligent game design, and shooting with a group of people who *really* want to be there, instead of those who do it just to get rid of Saturday nights' hangover!
Must admit, i'm pleasantly surprised at the number of Brits that have signed up. I thought there would be a few rattles-out-of-prams over the lack of yanks. Does it show a more mature and intelligent type of player attends these events? I think so. Hell, the atmosphere at BoB was amazing. I've never seen to many 'softers just wander off and talk to others instead of staying in their own little clique throughout the day.
Had a bit of a thought earlier (yeah, dangerous I know). We've got the "basic" guides on the main website. I'm thinking of re-doing my German one. Starting with the absolute basics, then how to evolve it into a grade A impression over time. I wont have the free time to do anything until after Arnhem, but then i'll get the camera out and start working on it. It would be nice to show the players that they can evolve their impression over time, without having to go and blow 400 quid at any one moment - any thoughts on this?
When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Cant see the harm in it. If we showed it as
Basic
and then you could show add ons as long as its all done in a really feindly, 'heres how to do it well but cheap and it doens tmatter if you dont ' way./

Bingo! exactly the way I was thinking of doing it. There wont be any Stitch Nazi shite going on, thats for sure

At PU with Rich and Guy I did a series of shots that I wanted to experiment with. The idea is that you have a three paned page, main window shows the impression - 3/4 front and 3/4 rear. You hover over the kit and a detailed view is shown in a second pane along with third text pane that has description, where it was purchased and for how much.
I haven't had time to start the coding but now I have got the Phoenix weekender out of the way (and I have resigned from Team Phoenix) I should have some time before I am grafting with the Arnhem graphics. I'll do one page so you get the idea and see what you lot think...
Sounds good,
& are we going to open up Arnhem for another ten playrs on Brit and German then .?
It's a flipping monster , if only they'd all book for CR I'd be delighted
Need a few more Brits/Dutch surely before more Germans?
As for CR
1. It's a weekender and more hard-core so will appeal to fewer
2. It's years away yet!
Aye
I agree, lets fill the UK and dutch get a few more deposits in.
CR will fill up after Arnhem for sure, it is like over three months away - plus we can do a gucci leaflet to give every player at Arnhem.
I reckon we could apply some of the funds we have to printing acoule of hundred CiA leaflets to stick in places like 6mil and the phoenix office as not everybody has the internet, remember that guy wihtthe cool us airborne outfit we met at PU who simply doenst read forums or use the net.
I think if we look at filling the places, then open up say a few more but cap it at 100 players max as i thinki we'd be strugging to C3 anymore than that to be honest, and 80 might even be more realistic.
Oh and the uniform guide seems ace, may even be an idea to get all the mods or as many as pos together to do different loadouts in one photshoot.
e.g.
Gadge: Brit Commando
Headshot: US airborne
Yith: UK airborne
Guy: Heer
Kermit: German paras
Chomley: Waffen SS
Orky: US infantry
thats woudl be a great mix of kit guide yeah?

Yes, on Saturday at Phoenix Woodland a guy in WW2 cammo turned up for the day and had been perusing the posters very carefully - he hadn't known anything about it until then.
And there you go, as we speak Ade books into CR!
I'm not too worried, I expect a flurry of bookings after Arnhem if it goes well, as people thing "that was a good crack I want to do it again"
BTW I thought Balderick was a good sport , he's bigger than me and there's no way I'd let you photo my side profile ! I like the calibre of people we're attracting , even Poacher seems to have calmed down a bit .
i know, his last three posts have been positiv and supportive
