I've been offered a commision in Stubblehoppers new private army , which I thought was rather nice of him  . I've turned him down gently & pointed out , as an organiser I am already 2IC under CW , and that I can't really be seen to be linked to any group of players, especially as we aren't operating fixed squads . I did say I'd be happy to tag along with KG HS at other non CiA events.

I mention this as I note Kermit is an NCO for this group , can you give me a heads up as to what the plan is ? Are you intending to go as the NCO leading this group or is SH thinking he's leading it , in which case we could tag him as another NCO, although it might mean you doing other things than SH expects / not being available for KGHS all the time .?

Just some thoughts .

LOL - I am avoiding any direct contact with Stubbles plan, if I wanted to do drilling and all the stuf he is planning I would join a reenactment group! Time is an issue, plus I do Brit, US and Vietnam stuff not just German.

I hope he is not expecting to use these squads he is drawing up for Arnhem - we need to be in control not him!

I suggest you have a chat with him and get your squads sorted then!

We've had ours sorted for ages now :)

BTW, Poacher is booked in and has paid a deposit, but can't make it.

We are sorted squad-wise and know what WE are doing, just making sure Stubble isn't going to ride rough-shod with his own plans!

The plan is quite simple. I'd rather be on the inside of this lot, ensuring several things:

1: It doesnt become "Elitist"
2: To try and control the "stitch counting tendencies" of several individuals.
3: To try and keep a lid on SH's abiblity to go OTT on things.

I've seen this before, and I'd rather be in a position to influence it now, than have to start shouting at people further down the line....

Have you advertised the organisation?

I don't remember seeing anything posted when I've been doing my daily "spying"!

Ah, that's WE as in Guy and me.
I'll be posting up some briefings in the next few days so the players have something to chew on...

Good plan Kermit and good luck!

I don't mind the idea of a German or Allied team , other than all the baggage that'll come with it.

Kermit, is SH the self appointed "Fuhrer" , if so what are your plans for Arnhem ie do we need to make SH an NCO , or is he going to be alright under you ? Has it all gone ot his head yet

CW - reminds me -we do need to post up NCOs soonish IMHO STBF !

BTW Are we letting poacher have his deposit back so we can sell his place to someone else ?

Well I wasn't going to, as I did say it was non-refundable.

But we could if you like.

I think I'd prefer to offer him a free deposit on a future game.

As for letting someone else in... maybe... but right now the germans have more players than the allies anyway.

An idea...

I'm gonna have a chat with the bloke. I'm staying as an NCO, but it may be an idea to make him one as well (for this event only)

Give him a small number of the people on his OrBat and see how it works. If it does, all well and good. If its doesnt and he starts upsetting people then the whole 9th "team" thing will collapse before its had a chance to cause too many divisions (not that i'm expecting it to fail, but hey, i've been in a few teams, and its better for it to go Kaput before anyone has a chance to take a serious dislike towards anyone else)

He's given us plenty of notice and it's not going to hurt it, I'd do it on the quiet as a special "one off" or as you ay take it off the next game . I would like to sell his place eslewhere , just cos they've booked doesn't mean they will arrive, and I'd hate ot turn people away knowing there was a place spare.

That was my thought , as long as he realises we have first call on you !

Hah! Plenty of time OS, this week giving a month for them to digest it and Q&A....

Rolling Poacher's deposit onto next game is a good idea if it is OK admin-wise.

O/T - spoke to Tomo yesterday (on Axis) and he will be posting his deposit to you. Yith, could you compose a harshish ultimatum to Eddy and Carter to get their deposits in - fear they will piss you around until the last minute then not show.

Carter is being a pain in the bum...

can i pay you at a later date because im skint from fixing my m14 im going 100% though

I replied:

Okay. But understand that you risk losing your place.

You'd be a lot better off just getting it sorted out now.

Eddy is a pain as well

I reckon the whole Heats thing was a ploy to avoid paying!

Hmmm, thought that might happen!! FWIW they were both playing at Phoenix yesterday (although I didn't see them) so they are not that short of cash!

Keep up the pressure!!
