Cheating was my word and perhaps a little OTT .

Sat as a German player, having to allow a civilian through , and then being shot in the back 2 minutes later by the same civvy( but now a DRW as a result of an armband hastily put on ) I thought would be percieved as unfair , esp if we are going to be harsh about shooting "unramed" civilians . Most airsoft arguments start with "your're not taking your hits", which this civilian status could flame unless it's clearly defined to all .

okay cool..

What we need then is rules of engagement written up for the axis troops, Something like:

British Soldiers:
Shoot on sight.
Dutch Resistance Workers (wearing Orange Armbands):
Shoot on sight
Dutch Civilians (no armbands)
If they are not acting suspiciously or trying to enter a restricted area, etc, then leave them alone.
If they are acting suspiciously then you may ask to check papers ("Pappieren, bitte!"), and then do a non-intrusive search if still suspicious. Any problems arrest them and take them to an officer for questioning. If they resist arrest, shoot them, then take the body(!) to an officer.
Do not shoot them before asking for papers and giving them chance to comply or if they do not resist arrest. If you do then you will also count as dead and must return to regen, no medicing allowed.

Nice clear ROE gets my vote. Something that all players can easily understand.

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Ah looks like we got there in the end . So if they are found to be carrying armbands, weapons or pyros etc we (me, Kermit and CW) can shoot them !!!!If they are really genuine unarmed civvies with their Ausweiss we can't

Excellent - I had faith all along !

For Brits this becomes:

German Soldiers:
Shoot on sight.
Dutch Resistance Workers (wearing Orange Armbands):
They're on your side! Work with them!
Dutch Civilians (no armbands)
Do not shoot them, if you do then you will also count as dead and must return to regen, no medicing allowed. They may be resistance workers. If they ask then accompany them to the OSS operative or your commander.

Dutch have:

When you are a civilian
You must not wear an orange armband and may not use any weapon or pyrotechnic device. You may however carry them concealed on your person or in a bag (etc).

As a civilian you do not have a medic rule. One hit and you are out.

German Soldiers
When a German Soldier asks for your papers "Pappieren Bitte!", then you should show them, unless you really need to get away. A German soldier may shoot you if you refuse to show papers.

A German soldier may arrest you after they have checked your papers, if they do then you must follow them to their commanding officer. If you resist then they may shoot you.

If they shoot you at this point then you should do what the German player asks, this may include taking you to their commanding officer.

Any other situation, if shot you must shout "civilian", the German player who shot you must then also return to regen.

British/US Soldiers
These are your friends. You may work with them. You may ask to be taken to their commanders or the OSS operative.

If they shoot you then you must shout "civilian", the Allied player who shot you must then also return to regen

OSS operative
The OSS operative has a collection of orange arm bands. These may be put on you by him or at the Allied regen point. Once you have them on you become a Dutch Resistance Worker (see below). If you are caught carrying rather than wearing an armband then you may be arrested by a German soldier.

When you are a resistance worker
You are effectively a member of the allied forces. As such you may use any weapon or pyro. You have a normal medic rule as the rest of the troops do.

You may only remove your armband at the allied regen or it may be removed by the OSS operative. Once removed you become a Dutch Civilian and are held to the rules given above.

Clarification
The following count as cheating and will not be tolerated:
- Removing or putting an armband on at any time other than mentioned above.
- Firing a weapon or using any pyrotechnic whilst not wearing an armband.

Anybody object if I make Mr Flibble an honourary DRW member as he's a bona fide Nederlander?

He might be able to give us some interesting bits of info and may stir up some interest from other players.

If so, can some with the power give him access to the forum?

Hi guys

I'm going to be playing in Dutch resistance kit for the day and will posing as a Brit working undercover in Dutch civilian clothing. I won't bring my Yank kit as it may piss off some of the players who've gone out of their way to put a Brit impression together.

Not sure whether it would be best for me to be part of the civilian contingent from the beginning as a sort of pathfinder for Brit troops before the main drop or whether I appear on the scene at the same time as the drop to see if it raises any German suspicions.

Thoughts?
