Battle of the Bulge was a Thompson battle, chances are this time with the quantity of MP40's and K98's we will have to think carefully about limiting Allies firepower (or boosting Axis). No German is going to be carrying 12 x 50round mags to reach the 600 round limit. Do we allow them 6 mags and as much loose ammo as they can carry so that they can at least do some furious speed-loading - or drop the limit to 300 rounds?

Or something else - given that Germans should have plenty of supplies, the Allies just what they dropped with (except that will make poo gameplay).

Well, its given me an idea. They start with a full load, then have to recover para dropped ammuntion containers. It's something that would keep the Brits busy for a while. Easy to mock up as well. Big sheet of white cloth, some para cord, and an ammo box (i've got a few large ammo boxes here that could be used). Should be fairly visible with a large bit of fabric flapping around in the breeze as well. Could also put a few blind drops in there as well - you know, useless stuff in the same type of tins as used for the para dropped ones.

OR

The Dutchies have a load stashed away somewhere.

Now we're a country we're run by a..........

I thought it was 600 rds loose or in mags ? They may have to reload a bitmore , but their numbers should compensate.

Perhaps we ought to get Diggah / someoen to look at how to make an MP40 hicap conversion so people can get going before the game .
Hopefully should have one of these beasties before the weekend .

Brits blat through a 420rnd Thompson mag while we have a pile of eight 50 rnd mags all over the floor! It'll be like single shot against a MG!

My pigging MP40 is sitting in ParcelFarce's Nottingham depot - paid the duty on the 1st and it hasn't moved since.

Suggets Hicpa conversion is the way to go , or just have more Germans

They are all SS heroes, and will fight to the last BB !

Just wait till all these MG34s start arriving, the Allies will be cacking themselves !

Can we please open the booking threads to some more players.? I know we have a problem with deposits, but we are turning players away which is completely bonkers IMHO !
It's nearly 6 weeks to go , can we add another 10 to brit and german . Suggest leave DRWs where they are as the nature of their mission would not benefit from having large numbers.
If it ends with with more germans, then so much the better , it'll replicate the battle accurately and we can always balance the game in other ways

I agree. Even numbers doesn't necessarily mean an even battle.

I would suggest as we know all those players wainting for their deposits is not too neccessary. I will cover Steve Ashworths as I'll get the cash of him this weekend .

I want to leave it a couple more days. Make them realise that they need to get their cash in ASAP.

Guy, can you forward Steve's deposit to me asap so I can mark him off the list.
