CW / Kermit

According to my list we now have 35 German players , 2 officers , 4 NCOs and 29Em giving squads of 7ish .

NCO-s

Kermit
Steiner
Nielblumme
Doctor

I know Doctor from ASCUK he's ex 45 Commando .

Suggest we also ask Stubblehopper as he's also ex army , and keen, and then go with 5 NCOs and squads of 6ish , we can always field promote if needs be .
Also would like to get an German NCOs private forum going to get them thinking about what they will be doing , rather than turning up giving them a badge and telling em to get on with it . ( Sounds like a job for our newest member   )

Gotta be careful about having a private forum for the NCO's, lest it become a "them and us" thing.

Regarding names and numbers, 5 or 6 would do the job quite nicely, and organise squad sizes according to the job in hand? The names you've put forward look good to me.

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

I'd suggest an NCOs thread in axis private, make it clear that all players can read it but its there for the ncos to discuss iddeas so please dont clutter it up etc.

There an element of that , although the hope originally was to get some more buy in / share some the the game planning . I'm open either way at the mo .

Trouble is none of those names have site knowledge - I would like to nominate Keith Lang, not only a marshall but ex-forces too and very good at analysing a problem and coming up with a strategy.

An open thread in the Axis Private area isn't a bad idea Gadge, alay the them and us thing. One thing we need to make clear is that just because they are in the pool doesn't mean they have a squad all day and we don't want them organising who is going in who's squad.

Fine by me , would you like to ask him ?

Also remembered we have a team of four coming who presumably play together , don't know if it's worth using them as a nucleas with an NCO , teams generally performing better an all that ? We could use them as a QR firebrigade force possibly .

Paul Gregory - 9th ss panzer [MP40(hopefully) or Thompson]
2,Anthony Gregory - 9th ss panzer [Mp40/Thompson]
3,Ian Shaw - 9th ss panzer [Thompson or G3?]
4,Phil Davis - 9th ss panzer [Thompson]

Course they might be crap but hey !

I think we have a good idea of what we want the NCOs doing, I would rather take more of a command role than a squad leader role this game , using NCOS to get the jobs done rather than grabbing people myself all the time . Plus I could be driving a bit as well.

Yup on the Gregory's, they are experienced players (US at the BotB if you don't recognise them!)

And yes, re command - we will be split into two areas anyway so that will work well, let the NCO's work hard and we work on, well, commanding.

David , James

Can we confirm Orbat as

CW - 1IC Identified by Peaked Cap
OS - 2IC Identified by Peaked Cap

Oberscharfuhrers/ Feldwebels - Identified by Armbands bearing the words "Waffen Kameraden" (?) in the style of Cufftitles but worn on the upper arm .

Kermit
Steiner
Neilblume
Docktor (if he shows up- he did just blob on the E&E for which he had paid.)
Forester
A Gregory (Bullet magnet never came back, I'm assuming AGregory is his brother )
+ Stubble Hopper just to shut him up .

We may have a few more than we need , but it does mean we can allow for some redundancy/ death , and make it clear they will not always be commanding a squad all the time , and maybe tasked for several different duties . Kermit hopefully being freer to do more organising stuff if needed .
We need to confirm they all have PMRs or that we can get hold of them for them , and give them a rough outline of their duties.
I'd like to post this reasonably quickly just to get it out the way before KGHS dominates everything . Then we can get onto planning the game more .

Any joy yet on these armbands , I can't remember if you said you could print something onto cloth of not . ?

Sounds like a good plan to me. A pool of NCO's to be used as and when required. Upper arm band works for me.

If SH gets annoying, just give him a couple of people, then send him on recce missions to keep him out of the way?

Regarding peaked caps. Bastard. I've just bought a Waffen-SS crusher

Armbands - Nic Morigi has a decent selection. Between him and Epic most are covered, Example: "Armed forces" Armband:

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

He he , shall we promote him Stbf ?

I think we were looking ot get some smaller armbands less intrusive since they all went bonkers over the Nazi Party ones.

Aye, good point. Anyone remember those iron-on transfer that you could run through your home printer? - would be cheaper than buying the ready made armbands, and give you exact control over what goes on them...

I think CW can print onto a canvass type material (for making the Maddonna with the big.. etc) It's possible we could do the same thing with these and spray mount them onto the PU style armbands . Or sommit like that !

hmm... I have a similar issue with DRW armbands.

They need to be orange with "ORANJE" written on them.

Also for Allied NCO's... Brown with the NCO Insignia that I have now bought stuck/sewn on them...

I was going to go and buy some material for all this tomorrow...

Dave???????
