Event details for Battle for Caen.

Hi all, I finally had the site walk at Sennybridge and all I can say is ‘MY GOD we are in for a treat’. The site will play like a dream for our battle weekend, with CPs dotted all over the map, buildings that need clearing, mortars firing over cover and artillery raining down on both sides. The church has a sound simulator that we can use for sound effect and there’s a few tunnels that go from building to building for you to find.

Bar and food will be kept in one big barn NO DRINKING anywhere else but in the Barn!! If we get caught anywhere else we will never be allowed back on.

Fully stocked Airsoft shop provided by Viking will be set up in the social barn as well.

Feel free to bring your battery chargers as there is power in a few of the buildings.

We will have to set up a staging point just off site to get groups escorted up to the FIBUA, you will be able to bring your own vehicles on site which is great news.

All rubbish must be put in bins and all will be asked to help run a broom round on the Sunday to help clear up.

Ill also bring the projector for movies on in the background.

WATER –BRING PLENTY OF WATER!!! The water on site is’nt great so I advise all to bring plenty with you.

SLEEPING - all will be sleeping in the buildings with power and all staff will be in the Church. Make sure you bring bed + sleeping gear.

Ill update this thread as we go guys;)-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

If you're after a staging point for escorts up to the site, there's a car park opposite the turning for "Church hill", the big, feck off hill that leads up to the area. If I recall, there's a cafe there as well.

If I remember right from being there before, a good place to put the parking was on top of the hill. Of course Josh may have other ideas.

God this is going to weird... last time I was there I was wearing US woodland camo and carrying an M4 with a box mag. ffs!

OMG... I found the pic... ARGH!-- attachment is not available --

I'm keeping the parking out of view of the battlefield but still within the compound area for sercurity. Dont want a red pug in me war footage lol :good:

The large barns in the centre will be the town square with the first of the German HQ's and Bar in situe.

Trying to spot a good place for the brit Howitzers to go. We have the Pac40 and 2 lighter AT guns for the Germans, 4 infantry mortars (these are new light motars that fire grenade M5s) and 2 81 mortars (that fire therno's) in play. I should have 2 demo bags for the brits as well as all the radio packs sorted.

Just waiting on TLSFX too see if we have them down to retail and help with atry fire missions too.

All coming together now.

Event details for Battle for Caen.

Isn't it Senny where Jeremy Clarkson drove around in that supercar with the sensors on it, whilst some Soldiers were shooting guns at it?

Looks great though, shame I can't make it to this one :(

Hi theres a lot talk about 'meet at the cafe' and ship people to the site. Does this mean we will not be able to park on site?. We have played Senny a number of times now and been able park and camp in the car park. Will this be OK for March?

Are we able to stay on the Friday night? Should be in the erea in the late arvo, if we can find the place?
Is there any town that may be a meeting point (or meet someone) close by?

Im am an Aussie ya know and the other 2 with me are Irish and Duch!
So they will be no good for directions
Is the entrance off the (A40) just before Trecastle ??(where coming from Fishguard).

Also happy to ferry kit and people in me Hi-lux Hi-ass!.

Ditto.

How do we get to the site? Is there a specific postcode we can use?

I've done some leg-work for us all, and provide you with these dirrections. Sennybridge Fibua is actually 8 miles away 'as-the-crow-flies' North North East (12 miles via road) from Sennybridge Town. Here's a link showing the route from the town [arrow A] to the MOD Fibua [arrow B]:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=sennybridge&daddr=Unknown+road&geocode=FcSnGAMdhoDJ_yl_npKdfzVuSDEZPLvJkhR7pQ%3BFTj7GQMd8OHI_w&gl=uk&hl=en&mra=mi&mrsp=1&sz=15&sll=52.034885,-3.612957&sspn=0.024289,0.052314&ie=UTF8&ll=51.991434,-3.607292&spn=0.097249,0.209255&t=h&z=13

This a a StreetView (why in the middle of Wales????) of the Northern entrance road:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=sennybridge&daddr=Unknown+road&geocode=FcSnGAMdhoDJ_yl_npKdfzVuSDEZPLvJkhR7pQ%3BFTj7GQMd8OHI_w&gl=uk&hl=en&mra=mi&mrsp=1&sz=15&sll=52.034885,-3.612957&sspn=0.024289,0.052314&ie=UTF8&t=h&ll=52.033987,-3.614631&spn=0,359.947686&z=15&layer=c&cbll=52.040263,-3.62066&panoid=EJXA7AOPALVUjR2YI1yODQ&cbp=12,117.32,,0,4.26

Hope this helps :good:
