It seems that a load of us are going to be travelling a fair old distance for the F&O WW2 game. Questions are:

1: Is there a travel lodge (or similar) anywhere near the site?
2: Whose up for a meal and some beer the night before? :D

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

In actual fact the was discussed whilst we were at the pub after the game on Saturday!

It appears that, that self same pub does indeed have 9 ensuite rooms available.

Its the Duke of Wellington in Matlock and is 5 minutes from the site, has plenty of parking, serves good food, very good beer and is of course where we go after the game for a drink. :)

They're very used to us turning up in combats... :)

Here is a link to them on yell...

Duke of Wellington on Yell

The site is up Chesterfield Road from the pub (past the Matlock Moor camp site) and then take the first left, its then on the right after about 1/2 a mile, after the turning on to Robridding Road.

I meant to check the prices at the pub but forgot... I've not had chance to do anything since then.

As for food... I'll be up for it. I just need to have a word with my parents to see if they'll babysit the little-un as my wife also has an event that night :)
