if we put a radio in a mock up shell (cardboard box),
can we play glen miller, marches by sousa etc, etc???????

just to leave it in the bunker playing would be good, whoever "owns" the bunker could play their national music???????

just an idea, my brothers sourceing old cd / tape players, ( that we dont care about if they get shot to shite)

good or bad idea??????

No problem with that, we already have plans afoot for the day but the more options we have the better. Crap kit is a good idea!

I saw this and thought of walkie=talkies... which are a no-no...

BTW there's a nice dutch lady who does some period radio broadcast MP3s for burning onto CDs... Marlowes on the WW2 re-enactment forums
Here's her website: http://www.joeri.net/radiofiles/

(oops I voted shite instead of good... its late and I'm feeling a little drunk... heh! I meant good idea!)

I seriosuly think we should have the Puppini Sisters playing in the allied camp.

If you've not heard of them they are a group of girls who do 40s numbers they also do some more modern songs in a 40s style to the point where you dont notice its not a period song
(heart of glass, wuthering heights etc)

Genius.

As long as some bastard doesnt put "lilli marlene" on repeat lol

Music planned for the safe zone is currently Glenn Miller as blasted from the back of my Landrover . I've also got some Red Army Stuff but no German music, so if you want to bring a CD with it on Kermit that would be great .

Does your CD player play mp3s? I could bung a load of ww2 music on a cd, even got some communist stuff there to so no one feels left out! I think the best one though is the German song Erika

I will do a compilation CD for you, normal audio format, US, British, German & Russian, about 5 songs from each country.

I've burnt a dozen or so German tunes to CD - everything from Deutschland Uber Alles to the Panzerlied. Should cover most things from the german perspective.

Should I chuck my portable CD player in the car as well?

I'll see if I can find a disc I did of speeches, music and propaganda broadcasts from both sides.
