Blimey, no one up for WW2 Eastern front???
Ill give it until the new year, but if we dont get some improvements on the numbers, yet another WW2 game will get cancelled
Whats putting you off?? ive popped a poll up so we (as a Sydicate of event organisers can get some feedback)
Here are the options.
Cant afford it in Jan
No interst in Eastern Front
Dont like real steal ammo limits
Not keen on roleplay
Simply cant make it
Remember, if you have no kit I have 13 sets of russian, 20 sets of german and over 20 WW2 guns for rental.

Norwich is unfortunately out of my 'sphere of travel' willingness for Russian games these days, especially in the winter.
Oooo, didnt think of that one. Ill get it added;)

Unfortunately Norwich is in the middle of No where transport wise
please just vote

my vote is for low cash, there's 2-3 games i want to book on but can't until nearer the time or at least the next wages.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
It is a combination of Eastern Front and distance for me. I might go as far as Norwich for Med or Western front (or western ) , and I would go to an eastern front game (borrowed kit permitting) at a venue closer to home.
Thats great feedback guys.
Keep em rolling. If nothing else its good info for future events

Can't afford it so soon after Christmas and Norwich is a fair trek for me these days from deepest darkest Shropshire, if it had been march onwards then I could probably have made it.
"Will you stop talking about the war!!"
"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."
Distance I'm afraid, Josh. I did go to Border Clash, but as I said at the time, I literally could have got to Poland itself in less time!
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Distance as well I'm afraid Josh, just too long traveling and high fuel costs at a time when my work and therefore money is hard to find.
Love the idea of real steel limits, roleplay and Ostfront games though
Border Clash was one of my favourite ww2 games, and i really like playing russain (its a charging in to mg fire thing)
When me and tiny have been to Norwich , for border clash , flying lead and fallout, we have to leave about 2300 on friday , and we arrive 4-5 am saturday morning.
When we leave about 2-4 pm sunday, with all the weekend traffic going North, and the wank 50mph speed limit on the m1, and m62 its usually midnight sunday , and back in work monday.
This is fine and do-able for the "odd" event but not for lots.
thats why i liked FUHRERS being near BRUM, in the middle of the UK, it gave most people a similar travel time
My other personal issue (and i know you get it Josh) is the mrs
when i come home 530pm friday, have tea put kids to bed, the sod off and come back sunday night, see her an hour, then back to a week of work, (and i have to work the saturday either side of events as i have to work 2 saturdays a month at the day job) it gets messy, "never helping out, never see the kids" you know the score.
since running events and going home with a bit of money , as opposed to spending it, the wifes a lot more sympathetic as im "working",
but when im "Playing" its cold shoulder for tea

Well obviously I am coming... but I wouldn't be if Martin wasn't already coming... and the reason, the distance again. I'm just not willing to drive the 4 hours there.
Again, great feed back and it's putting a picture together. I thought rather than make up my own reasons, I would ask and it's paying dividends.

i liked the look of the game and would have been tempted to get kit or borrow kit if it was no so far away if it was near brum would have given it a whirl (wife permitting lol)
Again location for me.
Would cost me iro £140 in fuel + game fees + asst'd gubbins that are always 'necessary' for each game and it's around the £200 mark .................. and the 4.5 hrs travel time either way makes it a looong w/end.
Game style/limits/expectations are spot on though

Agreed on the distance thing. Well, not so much the distance as the bastard journey - Norwich is a horrible place to get to from my neck of the woods. By contrast Great Westwood was a gem, even though not remotely local.

I can sympathise; it is actually exactly the same distance from me as Drakelow - 121 miles but will take me nearly an hour longer to get there.
I am sure it is often a multitude of factors which tip the balance - the journey is difficult enough but will seem worse when it is going to be in the dark and cold etc.
I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.

thats true CW, i went to UCAP for Project WOTAN on the south coast 7 hours travel, but less of an arse to get to than Norwich (wouldnt do it now though)
