Whilst on the treadmill at the gym, I had a cool idea for the pyros to start the day.

Perhaps we could have the Germans shouting commands for field artillery followed by some mk9s going off. As this is happening we could have a Yank for Tommy running towards the Allied front line from a fictional OP screaming 'incoming take cover!!!' whilst the maroon laced trees explde around them.....then as that ends the whistles blow for game on and the Axis go fer it.

Whadda ya reckon? Might get people going and get them to immerse themselves in the role-playing style of the day.

Sort of how I imagined the day would start but I rather fancied a short period of digging in - Allies setting out their stall across the site, and getting comfy (Axis moving up stealthily to just within sight of front line). Commanders would make sure no one buggers about and goes off freelancing. Complete lull and unprepared for action.

Then bang, bang, bang (heavy firework artilary from hardstanding area plus electric tree dets in Allied front line) - some groups immediately taken out screaming for medics (others falling back) other left on their own and a ferocious Axis attack follows. Headshot/Yith/gadge screaming the odds to enhance panic.

So after a very slow start complete confusion and mucho adrenaline and death and shooting...

Oooh, better, BETTER!!! I like.

----

"Dig in boys, it's gonna be cold one tonight. Hoobler put that goddam light out!!"

In the distance a lilting song can be heard drifting through the mist:

"Stille Nacht. Heil'ge Nacht. Alles schläft; einsam wacht"

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!! Rrratttaattatatatttattt!!!!

The far-off squeak and rattle of the dreaded King Tiger can be heard breaking through the OP.......

Lipton turns to Guarnere, seeing the fear in his eyes...."Shit-biscuits".

Dear All

Need some thoughts about how to carry out artillery strikes .
Currently plan on have two lots of artillery

1 some electrically fired maroons as a bit of a show starter courtesy of Major .

2 Commanded artillery strikes by marshals

It’s the second lot I want to discuss here , the “fireworks displayâ€

I hope we do go for the spotting signs... I just bought myself a rather nice pair of 1943 dated british military binoculars to fit in the bino case in my webbing! :)

We had a look at those last night. The Major is bringing a napthalene [sp] charge (for free - would cost £30) which give a nice fireball!

Problem is we don't get a lot of pyros for £150 - £200...

Thanks HS. I think Kermit is after the Enola Gaye ones (reviewed in current issue of AI mag) which are sold by Ironfoot at £40 per 10. Dangerzone also make similar at £3 each - http://www.dangerzoneuk.com

Yith, could you have a word with Gucci and see if he can get them through his supplier?

I take it we're looking to ask Gucci to get some in for general sale , rather than rob from the pyro budget ?

Holy Moly!

The Major's been on the Newky Brown again - I could have sworn we asked him for Mk 9's - we could do with a few players left in the game else we won't find enough for the next WW2 game.

Cool vid H/S!
