Small scenarios that can be tackeled by single or sub-squad to drop into game to get folk busy.
Re-post:
Each side has at their disposal say 10 mine flags. At any point in the game they can be deployed anywhere, at the discression of the commanders/squad leaders. Each marker has a six foot radius effective exclusion area.
Can be deactivated by sitting on the flag for 60 seconds - engineer can't have arms in his hands - if he picks up a weapon to return fire the clock returns to 60 seconds from when he puts weapon down. Must be at least a two man team both to deploy and remove - the engineer (can be anyone) plus his guard.
Objective - deny enemy access and create choke points.
At any point if there is a lull in the game or a couple of bods have nothing to do/are bored, send them out on mine laying/clearing exercise.
Doesn't need to be policed - remind players that they need to be a man's height away from a marker unless they are attempting disarming.
Will come up with a few soon. Sorry, been V busy of late.
Engineers & sign posts
Since the sign post fingers will have been removed in the morning an Allied sub-plot will be to task a group on engineers to restore the signs as reserve troops moving into the battle zone are getting lost!
Until they are restored players can't return from the regen.
RE: Minefield markers
Great idea, but the problem is that its something else we need to brief players about at the start of the day.
Don't think negative, simple ideas have simple solutions
Fifteen words will do it. Can be done in the afternoon - doesn't have to be part of the main brief. Forces only need to be told they can't go within six feet of a markers, job done. Engineers receive specifics from commander when tasked - instructions in pack also!
Afternoon only... cool idea...
Demolitions
Engineers have to blow up radio tower (near trig point) or fuel dump. Sent out with electric det, cable and clacker. Must lay charge and run out cable 30ft before blowing.
Will keep a squad busy for a while, esp if sent into lightly occupied area.
I have cable and clacker - Major has a 3g det!
Propaganda - demoralisation
Following on from H/S & my cunning plans for leaflet drops why not integrate them into the game?
Extra points for team able to deposit leaflets in enemy CP. Snag is they can't draw weapons (since CP's are also regens and shooting around a regen would be ghey) so it would have to be a sneaky beaky commando mission - get into position avoiding all contact with enemy, observe, wait and strike.
In the afternoon only so as not to get the Skorzeny men mixed up with it all!
Here's a couple to start......
Map Quest:
If needed for Allies
Following the reprisal killings in Putten recently, the Dutch resistance have recruited many new members. A former Nazi collaborator has informed us of the whereabouts of captured German plans of attack. Head to the wall at the southern point of your map, the plans are in a red envelope 300 meters east of St Vith. Capture and return to your CO.
If needed for Axis
Our intelligence officers have reported sightings of a known double agent around the walled area 300 metres east of St Vith, there are also reports of missing plans from one of our CPs. This can’t be coincidence. Scout the area, retrieve any plans you find and return them to your CO.

Medic:
Medical supplies have been dropped in the open ground to the south of the airstrip. Retrieve them before the opposing force capture them.
I know they're nothing special but I'm up to my eyeballs at the moment and it's all I can manage. Will think of two more soon.

I have a shell dressing bag that would be perfect for that one... 37 pattern with a nice red cross on the side.
