WW2 original drop leg platform "austerity" 2 vertical straps with 1 horizontal strap blanco'd late war green

I know this is already sold, but what is it?
It's not the 2 inch mortar drop valise, is it? There's no-where for a pistol to be attached?
I too would like to see a picture out of intruige.

OK I'll try and get a camera if i can describe it it has 2 vertical webbing straps with loops at the top for belt to go threw then they attache to buckles on the horizontal thicker part this lets you lengthen/shorten the drop, on the thicker horizontal part has a thinner buckle so you can a just for Thia size you attach the holster buy the metal clips and the loop the browning holster has both. It was sold to me as a cheaper version of the drop leg tankers holster and looks like it has 1942 on the stamp all brass fittings like 37 webbing.

Actually, I think I know what you mean - Like a cross strap/brace, but with a buckle on one end and two adjustable loops coming from the wide part at 90 degree angles? I have one at home, with 1939 dates - well before para troops were used by the British, and the tankers holster had only just been brought into issue in both long and short varients in 1938 (in 1943 all long varients were issued to be shortened). The piece of webbing is just one peice from a wireless set (batteries, i think?) carry system.

weird coz the webbing fiber and brass fitting and stamp look spot on to me you can tell modern made webbing and this did not look like it.

i may be wrong and will happily stand corrected if someone can please show evidence alot of my friends that literaly know bloody everything keep telling me same thing but as said will happily stan corrected which will mean i can safely use it in future events :D

They're not modern made*, they're just sold on to unsuspecting people as something that they're not.
They're period, the dates and physical manufacture are real - but are for a different use completely.

Just like when people used to claim that the load-bearing H-harness for the mortar rounds tubes, etc.. was really a late war designed H-harness to replace the cross straps on a standard set of webbing

*My one came out of a large box of Brit' wireless gear that I bought from an old collector who'd had it in his collection (along with the rest of the gear and his wireless sets) since the early 70s.

Thanks McVickers you put this one to bed :) looks like bin time for my bogus drop leg thanks for the help.

No! Don't bin it. Though not valuable , Signals related stuff is still collectable. There'll be someone out there who'll know how to assemble it along with other items to strap batteries down, or whatever the heck it was meant for...
