i have just got my 37' battledress which should turn up soon and want to get it badged up straight away. i want to do 2 para so has anyone got any reference pics of battledress with insignia on it. also does the denison have insignia aswell.

The Denison bit is easy as a para you would have a set of para wings and any rank insignia on the right sleeve only.
For the BDs the insignia would be pretty much the same as what I'm doing for South Staff's, shoulder title, (2 para in your case) then a Pegasus patch then an Airborne patch, and instead of the glider patch you'd have a set of para wings, although I'm not sure exactely where they'd go, have a look at this thread viewtopic.php?f=36&t=4859 where we've been discussing badging up as South Staff's.

do you know if they should be embroided or printed. also my wpg battledress turned up today and im very impressed with it, the jacket fits spot on but the legs are a bit long. i think they will have to be professionaly altered, but not sure how long to have them to get a good gather when i have boots and gaiters on.

Wartime standard patches were printed. For best BD officers and many OR's seem to get embroided ones. The para wings would be embroided and go between the shoulder title and the Pegasus. Check on history of 2 Para as some of the parachute battalions did not wear the the AIRBORNE title.

i think they will have to be professionaly altered, but not sure how long to have them to get a good gather when i have boots and gaiters on.
Just get them to a normal length where they sit just on the top of the boots when you're not wearing gaiters without messing up the nice crease you'll have down the front.
You can get it professionally done or you can use wonderweb and do it yourself... For me life is easy as my mum has had tailoring training...

What I meant, but obviously did not make clear 
, was the appropriate shoulder title for 2 para as opposed to the South Staff's shoulder title.

regarding the trousers, they have the adjusting straps and buttons on the bottom so i will get them done by someone who knows what they are doing, or i will just cock them up. and now i'm in two minds whether to go for airborne or commando now

I think what has been previously suggested for PBI members is that you badge up your BD blouse as 2 Commando, for the Airborne loadout you'd wear a Denison either instead of or on top of the BD blouse so you won't see the commando badges, and for the Hallimshire loadout the badges are sewn onto a piece of serge which you can then tack over the top of the comando badges giving you 3 loadouts with only 1 set of BD's and a Denison
