In another attempt to 'war-soft' on the cheap, I've got a Dutch olive cotton shirt / lightweight jacket, which, with a bit of re-styling of the pockets and a few buttons sewn on, will look pass-able like a bush shirt/jacket, for a jungle impression.
However, it's too new - short of beating it about on the rocks of a fast-flowing Burmese river, over a prolonged period, any ideas on aging it ?
I've tried Dylon-type colour remover on kit in the past but can never get the desired result :(

I'm personally fundamemtally against 'ageing' kit.

It makes little sense as althugh say for example a 40s denison is today bleached and worn looking, in 42 it would have been prisitne, by the time it got that distressed you woudl have had a new one from stores.

The best way to make it look real, is to wear it a lot, round the house then roll around in the wood sin it for abit dont clean it just brush dirt off when its dry.

I agree whole-heartedly, however the trews I intend wearing with it are bleached out, so it makes the jacket look 'modern' new NOT 1940's new ...
