Anyhoo, I spotted that they stock for sale to the trade No 4 flat boot protectors - the flat studs used in ammo boots. Also toe plates and the mock screw head nails for them as well as heel plates.
So no need to look for piddly packs on ebay or pay a fortune at militaria fairs - its all available from your local friendly cobbler, just point him in the right direct to source if he doesn't know already.
(There are also German-ish looking hob nails too - round, not hexagonal, if that matters)
