I didn't realise that there were Army Commandos as well as Marine Commandos. From looking at the kit guide pic closer, it looks like I've got the wrong combined ops patches coming - the tombstone instead of the circular ones - am I correct in saying that No2 Commando was an army unit? Hopefully I'll be able to frig it.

As I understand it, Army commando units (Nos 1-12) had the round patch, Royal Marine commandos (Nos 40 - 48) had the tombstone.

Don't worry the insignia should be the same size so all you've got to do is cut the patches down to size, I did it with the round ones I got from SOF as the overall diameter was too big, also I'm sure I read somewhere that the army circular ones were actually cut down tombstone ones, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong

Advice please, chaps. Exhibit A : the mismatch between my BD blouse and trousers.

Now, my question is this: for good authenticity, does this matter? I know everything WW2 had colour variations, but (for my own kit only - not anybody else's) I am becoming a stitch-Nazi. Would you normally see such a colour variation as above? If not, then what to do? If I bleached it again, would it start harming the fabric ?
