Hey all, I recently aquired some 37 webbing, and came across what turned out to be a Canadian Inglis holster. I was just wondering if anyone knew if they made it into british hands. On an aside, would a 1911 fit it without too much hassle?
Here's a pic of the offending item, cheers!
I'm not sure if these would have made it into British hands from what I can find out they were mainly used by the Canadian's although the design was adopted by the British post-war.
As to your second question, the dimensions of the 1911 are not that different to the Hi-power so there shouldn't be any problem.
Cheers mate! I suppose I could use it as an interim for a while (finding '37 in my area's getting blummin' difficult!) Thanks for the info!
I wouldn't be too worried about it I'm not an absoulute expert on this and I may be wrong, plus TBH I'm planning to get one as it'll be a better fit for my Browning and I feel that for airsoft purposes you need to be a bit pragmatic and sometimes use what works rather than whats 100% accurate.
If you're getting a 1911 and you want to be more accurate then they do fit the square flapped holsters that are still readily available.
(p.s. if you really don't want to use the holster maybe we could do a swap )
I'm assuming you mean you HAVE a square flapped one
Sure mate, but to be fair I'd best tell you, the pic is off a website, the one I currently own is a bit knackered looking, not overly you understand, but fraying a bit around some edges. But the attachment points are fine, the quick release buckle works but it's a bit stiff to put back in, and it's dated either 1945 or 1946 (stamp's a wee bit faded). You'll also have to blanco it. I'll try and get a piccy up but as a rough guide, I'd say it was bordring on grade 2. If you're still interested in swapping mate, Pm me your details and I'll post it up sharpish for you
I've got 2 square topped holsters, 1 is as new and freshly blanco'd the other 1 is used and I'm not sure exactly what condition it's in but I don't think it's damaged I'll have to dig it out as it's currently in a big box full of various bits and pieces of webbing.
In the mean time can you post a picture of your holster so I can see what it's like
Ok mate, I'll take the old and battered one, I prefer mine to have a lived in look I'll try to get a picture up soon, but my camera doesn't seem to ant to play at the moment
I'll keep you posted!
Right, the camera has decided to work, but won't upload to my computer
I'll try to get these pics up soon mate, watch this space...
Edit: I've PM'd you the photos.
