Moreso than a blanket?

Or do you mean that it would be stowed outside your pack and therefore get wet more easily?

Well, £32 wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the delivery charge - heavy and bulky item! £92 for DHL, £40 for USPS

Well, woolen blankets are still warm, even if wet. You can wring them out too. That sleeping bag would just double in weight, lose all insulating properties and be impossible to dry out if it got wet. Looks bulky too.

You do know they are not really sleeping bags? They are designed to be worn in a sitting position. Used to keep you warm in the cold interior of a WW2 bomber.
They did get used as sleeping bags, plenty of pictures of them strapped to jeeps etc.

I don't know anything about them other than the price of a WPG repro :D

Why were they made in camo pattern if they were designed to be used inside a bomber?

I always thought they were dual purpose.

They were designed with big 'bat wings', which meant mean you could wrap it round you when wearing a parachute and harness whilst in a plane at altitude, and the camo pattern was so if you were glider-borne, it'd be used as a sleeping bag on the ground once the area was secured.

Either that, or they just had a load of rolls of denison-ish material knocking around and it was cheaper than buying new fabric when they made them.
