Looking to buy a Denison Smock come payday as its the only thing I need for my brit kit (that and a proper gun)

I know its a bit of a minefield which 1 is right and what-not, but would this be a good 1?

You want the smock made by rangercamp, half zip, 1st pattern.

I'd never normally recommend em but i heartily recommend buying yours form soldier of fortune.

They are £100 (as is the one in your link), you'll get it next day and its down your neck of the woods so any hassle or returns will be much easier.

So my advice would be rangercamp half zip from SOF.

1/2 Zip Denison smock Code: BE113

1942 Denison jacket which is an accurate replica of the original WW2 Denison smock made with a 1/2 zip.

* Newey press studs
* Knitted cuffs
* Over head design with a half length brass zip
* 1944 cotton label
* Heavyweight cotton material
* 5 sizes available
o Size 3- height 5ft 6 to 5ft 8, chest 36-38 inch
o Size 4- height 5ft 6 to 5ft 8, chest 38-40 inch
o Size 5- height 5ft 9 to 5ft 11, chest 38-40 inch
o Size 6- height 5ft 9 to 5ft 11, chest 40-42 inch
o Size 7- Height 5ft 9 to 5ft 11 chest 42-44 inch

A new delivery is now in and the Dension smock has been made with a washed finish to make it look worn in like a combat soldier would have worn.

Size :

£99.99

same price as the other but this one is definatley the type you want, colours on the ebay one dont look quite right.

Note though that the one you found on ebay is a rangercamp one, webby...

Its the new type with a supposedly better colour... people are very much divided on that particular issue... I'd have preferred him to keep the same colour myself...

You may end up with the new style same as that ebay sale or the old style from SoF... whichever it is, you definitely do not want the full zip one.

Yeah thats cool, so you'd still recommend the SOF version, only if the colour is different from what you guys have I dont wanna be out of place.

Well you're stuffed if SoF don't have the same type we have...

Rangercamp don't make them any more and have switched over to the new type.

Your only hope if you are determined to match is if SoF have some left in stock...

Only reason i say you cant guarantee that the ebay smock is a rangercamp is that it doesn't state that it is, it just says 'highly regarded on forum x'

Unless you know the seller as reputable Rich.

I still say go for SOF as

1) its a quid cheaper
2) the postage is cheaper
3) you'll get it quicker
4) its likely to be the same shade as the ones we've all bought while the ebay one *definitely* wont be.

Oh and the last reason is that its probably the only item you will ever buy form SOF that's cheaper than any other source and still very good!

Its the same Gadge... The pic is almost identical to the ones seen on the WWII forums and the seller is based in London which is where they're shipped to from China for distribution in this company... its done through Ellen Yao. The guy in china is called Richard Fu. I've talked to both of them by email in the past.

BTW, you can probably get it even cheaper by quoting this thread: http://www.wwiireenacting.co.uk/forum/v ... 11&t=44836 to the email address given on there. The email is Ellen Yao's. However it'll be the new "faded" version for sure...

If you're close, go down to SoFs shop and get one from them. Alternatively you are more likely to get the non-faded version from them than the faded one, but there's no guarantee!

There's every chance that SoF will have another for you then Webby... But if I had the chance I'd go in person rather than trusting them to send you the right one...
