As in the subject. A rubber commando knife is available from SOF, but is a rubber spike bayonet for No. 4 available anywhere?

Ah, the description doesn't say anything about rubber. That's why I didn't find it :) Thanks!

Yes, SnS. It is a push fit over the muzzle of a No 4 and also fits neatly on the late pattern entrenching tool helve.

Cheers
Martin

How "rubbery"/soft is it really? Is it usable ingame? For comparison, I have been using the Cold steel rubber knives ingame with success.

Why do you always carry that umbrella?
-Bad memory. Never could remember the password. Knew no Jerry would carry one. Had to prove I was an Englishman, you see.

In general, I doubt organisers would recommend using any rubber bayonet in the 'attached' position, it's far too easy to hit someone with the end of your gun instead.

Equally, most organisers don't want rubber weapons used in 'stabbing' attacks, more as a tap on the side, so it sort of makes the pig-sticker a bit redundant.

I don't need it for bayonet charges. It's just that the bayonet frog is a bit empty without the pig sticker and I wouldn't want to take a real one to a game.

If you're not planning on using it for anything, as long as it's tie-wrapped/taped shut, you'll be fine.

Especially as you can still pick 'em up for under a tenner at shows.

Most people don't worry about even tiewrapping/taping shut the pig sticker at events. I wouldn't worry about it.

It does depend entirely on the site/organiser, though. if you're likely to use it at an open day, it makes sense to secure it.

Were we supposed to tape our bayonets in? Never done that for sure, sounds very silly.

Also I like bayonets on things at games  , at least with a rubber one you can 'slot it on' for games where you are allowed them, and not for games where you are not - a metal on you never can put it on.

Very silly, apart from at a GMA game the other month, someone managed to sneak up on another player, and tried to do a knife kill with the knife from the other player's belt. A real knife. Could have been nasty.

It's all fun and games, until someone loses a liver.

Josh has always been fine about me stabbing people with my rubber pig sticker. Other organisers may be less so of course. I usually ask first.

As for the rubberyness, well, it is fairly bendy but not outrageously so. It also took a coat of Zebo fairly well.

My SnS rubber K98 bayonet is like a floppy old banana skin however, although it is hardening up a bit with age.

I have never taped a real bayonet in at a game, although I did manage to stab myself with a real pig sticker, so perhaps I should :)

Cheers
Martin
