Would these look alright as british wool gloves?
http://www.epicmilitaria.com/product.ph ... een-gloves
or should they be lighter?
See I know WPG do a reproduction pair, but I'd rather save myself some money in postage and see if anyone else offers something similar.

They'd look good if you cut the fingers off to look like the fingerless gloves issued:

or try to look out for the 'crab claw' trigger finger'd mittens which were also manufactued in the same green shade:

The Brit' normal gloves have always appeared more khaki green, going all the way to brown in colour - just like the range of wool colours for cap comforters:
But any green/brown shade would be alowable if a loved one had knitted them to one of the approved patterns. Lots of soldiers had home made 'home comfort' items of issue gear.

I've worn issue fingerless woolen gloves for years, as both axis and allies. They work well and look the part, especially when they're as gopping as mine are now!

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
I bought a pair of brown woollen gloves in the (Debenhams?) sales a couple of years ago, they seem to do the job too.
They get ripped to bits by thorns etc so are heavily repaired.

I've got a few pairs of genuine unissued British army 'crab claw' mittens for sale, like in the above photos, if you want some. The packaging was 1942 dated, from memory.
Cheers guys. I think I will get the epic gloves then, though I havent decided if i'll make them fingerless or not yet.

I kept my WPG gloves as full gloves, because my dainty fingers need protection from the naughty cold, and snipped the fingers off some regular wool gloves. A pair for either occasion.
I've got a pair of the WW2 shooters mitts with the trigger finger - they drive me nuts in game play so I will be investing in some finger less jobs.
