Hello everyone. Just here to ask for some confirmation since I'm right now sewing some insignia onto a set of P49 BD that my grandfather paid for.

He served in the Suez Crisis from what I can tell as part of national service and was in Third Division, Royal Artillery, Signaller.

So, having this information, I've bought the 3rd Division triangles, signals patch for the lower arm, AoS stripes for the RA and of course shoulder titles.

At this moment, I've got the shoulder titles approximately a 1/4 of an inch below the shoulder seam as stated in some sources I've read and the first triangle is on too with the top tip exactly 3 inches below the shoulder.

What I'm worried about is whether I've got the divisional patch correct and where the signals patch & AoS stripes go as I've been unable to find a full guide to British Army insignia... Much to my chagrin.

Any and all advices as to where I can get a guide or someone informing me of where everything goes where would be much appreciated.

Thank you for reading,
Tommy9151

Did your Grandad tell you where to put them? If so, go with that, no-one can tell you you're wrong if you checked with someone who wore the uniform.

He did, but it was no where specific and I don't want to disappoint him.
