After posting this as a latest acquisition Yith wanted to see some pics, and I decided to put some up!
I found this at Spanhoe Arnhem event on Saturday. It was in a pile of bren pouches all war dated. Some were Mark III's some Mark II's, some had the loops for holding rounds to fire grenades from but were dated Mid war (Canadian I guessed). This one was actually the first I picked up. I checked the date and nearly wet myself! Then had a butchers about it and started to get a tad confused and nearly didn't buy it...!
Have a look at the photos:
Last photo showing the inside of the pouch 'lid' clearly marked, and no holder for rounds, or any sign of one being removed! Aren't all Mark I's known to have them???
The date is clearly 193? something, and 8 looks about right.
Anywho. What do you chaps think? I reckon it has been altered either for comfort or to match the Mark II stock. Comments!
I really don't know... looks interesting though!
It certianly is! I have checked the company as none of my other equipment seems to have that name, and they are an English company who have been making woven material since 1850's or something!
I'm stumped by it as another Mark I i've spotted has the holders on it (it you are interested Yith send me a PM, it isn't in brilliant condition though)
I might stick it on WWII re-enacting see if they have any ideas.
Feel free to make comment or check webbing books. I'd like to work it out.

Had a response on t'other forum!
What you have there is a Mk1 Factory converted into a Mk2. It is very common with Mk1s to find them in this condition.
No not all Mk1s had the ballasite cartridge loops in the top only one half of the pair should have them (IE have them in the LH pouch but not in the RH one)
Nice to know!
