Hi, I got this from Sabre today, it appears to have a date stamp of 1967. Gadge thinks it may be Greek.

Yes, it's greener than my trousers. Is there any safe way to bleach some of the colour out?

Hmm.... this might sound foolish... but would there be any mileage in sewing on bits of velcro to the relevant places so I could change the insignia? There is no way on earth that Frau Steiner will want to keep sewing and removing insignia!

Definately Greek-they vary from greenish to brownish-not sure if this has something to do with the dates or just a cloth batch thing.

The correct period way to have removable insignia is to use popper... I use the 7mm size on my Far East Stuff.

Although I don't think that it's correct for NWE... :P

Alternatively, sew the sets badges on to patches of serge and then sew them on... its a lot easier than sewing them on individually. It's completely authentic for Hallamshires, but not for the others.

Otherwise, I suggest learning to sew. Its not that hard and its a perfectly manly thing to do if you're doing military stuff... ;)

Looks exactly *spitting image* of the Greek blouse I bought off of Spiers. Mine has a 1962 date stamp.
