Ask Warren at S&S... he had some.

Sentimental Journey also has it

Suzy's Surplus (in the US) on ebay has had it, but doesn't have it now:

(She has some 49 pattern trousers at reasonable sizes)

There has been talk of someone making repro blanco... all I have right now on that is a telephone number that I've not rung yet!

yep all from sabre. rang up and he was nice and chatty. took my card info and then asked what I want. asked what sort of patt webbing I wanted then asked if I wanted brass bits etc.

got 2 pouches 2 straps 1 belt 1 water bottle and cover as well as the beret and badge cap which is handy. saves me routing around for it all. He asked me if I needed a whole list of other bits but I apologised and said I just need the basics for now as I need to get the uniform yet.

That's one of the great things about brit kit (other than the honour of defending king and country, obviously!) is that the vast majority of the kit is so cheap. the only really expensive parts are the weapons and Battledress, and even they're coming down in price now.

Hmm.... just been reading up on blanco-ing... it sounds a right pain in the 'arris! And after going through it all, it eventually rubs off and you have to do it again!

Gadge, I know you might turn in your grave (if u were dead! ), but is there a more permanent alternative, stuff you could paint on instead??

Didn't know whether to put this here or in the General kit place, but this bloke looks good for Brit stuff.

Its possible to dye stuff but blancoig is really not that difficult, once you've done it one you'll reealise its not really a massive ballache.

Evo and i are looking into doing a guide with pics later.

I didn't get a reply from Warren about blanco, but if my wife returns with the car in time, I may take a trip to Sabre and have a snoop about.

Anybody need anything? :)

Its on the shelves next to the water bottle on the left as you walk in.

as this is the kit discussion bit i thought i would comment on something.
i tried ordering an xl 37 pattern webbing belt and long straps from SoF but theres a 3 to 4 week wait on them!!!! dont do internet oders as i think they are running out on a few essentials.
i managed to get the bits from sentimental journey including his last tin of kg3 blanco
does anyone know if that place down in pompey is still selling the tank helmets? if so i think if i can get an arnhem era leather chin strap they could be converted with a bit of drilling and a coat of krylon. only difference with a real one then would be the liner but its not like its being used for a display at a stitch counters bazaar.
