I bought my CMP loadout holster, belt and ammo pouch from a geezer in Greece from ebay (lovely chap sent me a cap comforter gratis as well). Talking to Alun from SOF at Overlord yesterday its seems that the Greek ones are on the large side along with the previously mentioned Canadian ones...so no need to beware Greeks bearing gifts...

That's useful to know, I did wonder where you got that holster just before you led a valiant charge up the hill at kasserine.

Seems this chap has a number for sale on his ebay list.

That holster is the Canadian type, and was made to fit the .455 Webley (standard Canadian revolver at the time), where as the British 37 patt holster is made for the .38 Enfield/Webley, as it was the standard at the time and therefore the British holster will not fit larger frame revolvers (or anything other than a .38, it seems...).
[EDIT] Dom_e, is that SMLE a deact, or a custom rifle? If so I'd be interested in seeing some pics
Sorry for the delay in replying, seem to have missed this topic! The rifle is a deac, working on an airsoft version!
EDIT: Also, for anyone being put off by the holster business, don't be. These guns are ace, worth every penny!

From probably pure luck, the first '37patt holster I picked up from my webbing collection, the one which was easiest to reach, was a '44 dated RAF blue one - my new .455 slid in there and poppers-up a treat! Have yet to dig out any other of my originals, and knowing the variance in manufacturing will probably find, as others have, some will also allow the .455 to fit in, while others probably won't!
To be accurate, ideally we'd all need to invest in the '19pattern webbing holster which, though very similar in looks to the '37patt holster, was designed to fit the larger frame Webleys - and perhaps also the larger '19pattern pistol cartridge pouch to match

I picked up a Canadian holster,Browning pouch and a few other 37 odds n ends for £20 in a Wakefield charity shop
That's a good find. The postage on my holster from America was about £20 by itself!

Browning pouch
By 'Browning pouch', are you referring to the automatic pistol double magazine pouch?
One of these, but genuine, not repro?
If so, and it's an original, these go for silly money! You could easily double/triple what you paid just by selling that pouch

Yes the mag pouch,I think its a repro though, the studs look like the lumpy ones that WPG use.
Gentlemen, i might help here with an experience i recently had:
Because of not reading all the text on an ebay listing, I ended up with ordering 2 webley holsters from Greece. In both of them my real steel webley .455 and .380 fit quite comfortably. My Airsoft Colt, Luger and Webley MK VI fit nicely as well. If i get around to it, i'll post pics in the evening, when i am back home. I have since tried to find out what sidearm the greeks used during the civil war and post war period, to assertain if they are genuine (i bought an original pat 37 small pack, cartridge carrier and full sleeve water bottle carrier along with the holsters, all war time stamped, for less than 1 canadian holster would have been on ebay)
Also ordered one of the british holsters (not the bigger Canadian one). My webley fit without any probleems, extremely good luck I guess (returning not as easy as in the UK).
Why do you always carry that umbrella?
-Bad memory. Never could remember the password. Knew no Jerry would carry one. Had to prove I was an Englishman, you see.
A bridge too far
Another option for people still looking for holsterage, make your own:
While it wouldn't be ideal for WWII games, for those of us who carry our WWII weapons to regular skirmishes it's a valid option. Goes nicely with 37 and 58 pattern gear!
