WW2 Brit/Commonwealth braces

I came across these and was told they were South African WWII braces. Similar to my Brit ones, except the tabs are cotton rope instead of leather tabs.

Has anyone seen these before or can they comment.

I have seen them before as a production varient that did not need leather. I have not got details on where made. They are correct for period so you can wear them. Might be better for re enactment as I am not sure how long rope will survive against metal buttons.

Thanks Ramsay. I'll do that and use my postwar SA army braces (same as the grey/blue Brit ones) for actual playing in.

I've not see those before, but they look awesome.

They look unissued? I'd keep them safe and tucked away in your collection.

indeed they look in good nick but for practicality i'd go for elastic ones in the field, nobody is going to see them.
