We finish on Sunday at mid day, there is no ruch to depart.

On Saturday we still have to finalise our travel plans, but you should be OK form 10 onwards, at a guess.

we organisers might be staying over the Friday, we don't know yet/have yet to check with Josh.

I may not manage to get my windproof before the event. Is it OK to take a Denison for night fighting?

I am hoping in June it won't be 'too cold and rainy' on the evening, but if it is, then sure.

In the 'dark mission' the allies will be patrolling and have access to hot tea in the village, so we should be OK.

 The allies always get it easy, us real men will battle not only the combined might of several allied armies but also the elements. :raspberry:

I always find it useful to dangle something more pleasant than being soldierly in front of guards. I will tempt them with tea and see how their professionalism holds.

Do you have a postcode and/or map to get to the site? It's been years since I went to Tudders.

A question - will sniper rifles be completely useless in this game? I am having a lot of problems with the S&S Lee Enfield and it now seems they will not go away without a lot of tinkering and parts swapping. I am thinking of taking my Tanaka Kar98k as well and swapping LE for Tanaka on the second day if I really cannot convince the Lee Enfield to cooperate. Would that be viable?

Can't you fit a restrictor to the K98?

by 'sniper' I assume we are talking the high fps ones. I dunno. As I have said from the start, in my opinion all high fps weapons are useless just in general. Good for drawing blood in the occasional accident, or doing some Clarkson-esque bragging, but useful in any structured game? Nah.

SO, specifics usefulness for this game:
With a high powered rifle you are just less versatile. If I order your 'section' to escort supplies, and you are ambushed down a wooded track within 25 meters - if an ambush occurs it is going to be within this range - then your only option is surrender or flight.

Now I don't mind surrender or flight, both amuse me, and the games rules have the option to use high powered rifles, you just have to be very careful with where you are firing, and would likely have to rely on the bayonet more often.

I will have spare low fps guns with me to lend out. But break them at your peril! ;)

Also did anything happen with regards to getting any of Josh's guns?

Are there any reasonably accesible local eateries (pub? chippie?) nearby. I was feeling extremely lazy about heating up some slop to eat during the 'tea break' 6-9 on Saturday evening, but there might not be time to go offsite so I shall bring the usual tins and packets too.

Cheers

I dunno, Pizza has been gotten before, and a local pub has been gone down to before as well. (people in/driving cars knew more than I)

Wasn't the pizza delivered at the Mace? Or did I just imagine/dream that?

Hmmm... 3 hours gap.. Yes time to get food elsewhere and save on packing cooking equipment.

Sounds like a plan to me!
