OK had a chat to Ed at IED . Happy to have us whenever we want, day game, 24 hours whatever . I've proposed a 24hr game in early June for around 40 - 60 players.

Camping Friday night for free , Game starts 10 am Saturday ends 10 am Sunday . Cost around £30 -35 for the entire event .

I would prefer IED to CA as

1 We will get free reign
2 Its in the middle of no where and therefore can make as much noise as we want , use vehicles ( might have Jeep by then :D )
3 Campingon site in periodwith weapons no issue
4 Its 700 acres

If no one objects I want to post a flyer for this on the open forum , to see how many would be interested . I will make it abundantly clear it's going to be hardcore milsim, and that it may not appeal to all . (You watch the nutters will lap it up ! )

FLASH NEWS

After the success of the first event we are now looking at producing two further ones in the first half of 2007 .

Sounds good :)

Perhaps we should check our diaries for Jun 10th first!

(I can't find any airsoft or re-enacting events that clash...)

June 10th would be totally out for me , its a second weekend of the month.

I'd also think we could space them a bit more.

Say March for the V1 game and Aug for Arnhem?

Take the time to make em ace, i think two months gap between them might be a bit quick for lot of folk if travelling was involved.

Nah. Arnhem needs to be first... otherwise its too long a gap for the 1 day gamers...

I see these being worked on in parallel... me and Gadge on the Arnhem and Guy on the V1 game...

Hopefully with Dave helping with the marketing, signage and website for both... if possible!

That date was suggested by IED as suiting them . I would rather do June or early July , hover I have other commitments around the 20th June . I don't want to go for August as you'll potentially lose people to the holiday season and it will be too fecking hot . 10th June is nice because the raid would take place 3 days before the luanch of the V1 campaign against Blighty in 1944  ( sorry you know I like the dates)

Totally agree again ( getting scary this  )- another day event to establish ourselves and the rules, but not too long in the future, the 24 hour thing will follow on from that .
The joy of the 24 hourer is that I envisage it working with fewer numbers if required to . As it will be more patrol and recce the numbers are less relevant as long as they are balanced .
Happy to concentrate on V1 if you guys are happy to get Arnhem up and running .

We got the first event going after 3 months , but for these we don't have ot worry about kit and weapons , medics, etc etc as most of that has been done . We can concentrate on the event planning more.

Yep its DJ night, we've doen second sat for 7 years now and if i dont do it

1) im in breach of contract and potentially the venue can fuck me for their bar tkaings or 5k.. whichevers higher...

2) I'll lose a minimum of £150 quid from my own wages for playing a few tunes. . and right now i need that money.

However go ahead without me on this one by all means, i find 24 hour games difficult outside of hilidays anyway as i teach and cant be too fucked on a monday and there is no possibility of booking time off, with 14 weeks hols a year you get em when you're told you're haivng em.

I also find 2 day or 24 hour games hard on my spine as well after the injury.

So im happy to help in any wya orginaisation wise and ill turn up if i can and pos pull a sicky on the monday but dont pass up a good date cos of me.

Wife's a teacher - I know the score re holidays and days off in term time :!: .
At this stage I'd rather look to move the days so you can come :D , I'll try for last weeknd in June or 1st in July.
Note games ends Sunday morning , ie most of the day to recover and good nights sleep before work . !

Sounds great i just dont want people pissed about just for me.

24 hours is much better than 'weekender'

When you say last Weekend in June do you mean last full weekend?

i.e. 23-24 or 30

23-24 clashes with a Stirling weekender at Catterick.

I've had a quick look and can't immediately find any other clashing events...

Okay thats quite a good distance from Beltring... 18th-22nd July... but it'd be nice to make a bigger distance and drop the 7-8 July from the list...

The Hill has games are on 24th/25th June, 8th/9th July.

Warren would like to come to the 24hr.

He's thinking about the 10th June for D-Day at The Hill.

I'm not too worried, don't want to clash with DDay otherwise can't see many making the trek to Wales form Dundee .

Suggest

30th June 1st July is the provisional date provided I can book it with IED ( should not be a problem)
