We need to get going with CR .
First up , what are we doing about bank accounts etc ?
Secondly can we ramp up the PR for the bookings and start taking deposits
Thirdly I need to write a scenario
Fourthly - we could do with a day out to the site , however appreciate this is a days commitment
Fifth we need ot discuss props
Sixth ...open to offers .
okay...
- Bank accounts... whatever you want!
- Deposits... Do we have an estimate of cost versus incomings? how much do we need to charge? Once we have that... then get on with it! (though if bank accounts need sorting first then you need to wait for that)
- Scenario... yup thats your job!
- day trip... I'm VERY busy in April/May... it'll probably have to wait until June for me. Also note we need to do some groundwork for the game after Churchill's!
Guy, if you want some help with plots and sub-plots around the V1 theme I can give you some time now. I wrote a game themed roughly around this.
Also I'm really only free in mid-late May for a site visit as I have weddings and stag do to attend.

I'd like to take more of a back seat on this one if possible...
I hear all that
. Subplots wise, we shouldn't need a great deal as it will be mainly patrol against patrol , depends if we get some DRWs booking in or not .
In essence it will be a lot simpler game than the ones we have run so far, pretty much up to the players to make it happen, with some guidance from ourselves, and a bit of choreographing to get a big battle in at the end .
Thnikng on Guccis idea for having BBQ's on site for more of a social Saturday night than a period one - any thoughts on this ? Could throw it out to a player vote if we think it's not naff , but a social idea .
I thought we had to camp out in the middle of nowhere on the sat night?
Having run two very big games with massive socials on the Saturday nights, it's a nice idea but has always been a colossal headache as there's always trouble.
This may be a bit OTT, but you really have to make sure all guns and pyros are locked away. Once these people get a bit of drink into them they can tend to be a little......erratic.
It also tends to put a downer on the second day's play as people will inevitably drink far too much.
Personally speaking I'd much rather experience a 24 hour game than have two separate days with a mammoth piss-up. I've been really looking forward to that sort of intensity of gaming but have never had the trust in the organisers of such games to feel happy enough about going. Distant Thunder would be a perfect example.
This doesn't stop us fitting some of that sort of stuff into the game though. We could put in supply drops like we did on Saturday but with food and drinks in it.

I thought we had to camp out in the middle of nowhere on the sat night?
We don't HAVE to do anything we don't want to
I was thinking either one or two BBQs , a bit of an "arms down" situation either all players together or in their seperate sides .
Steve- I'd not let them bring crates of beer on site (fecking clear up would be a nightmare) we could do something lower key .
People enjoyed the social camping at Arnhem , it bonded people together niceley . Thats said none of them may wish to do it at all, prefering to be in character all the time .
Only kicking about ideas at the mo, perhaps see how it goes at Caen to understand how it all works .
Yeah I suppose we could run it as a cease fire of some sort for an hour or two so that people could sort kit out, take off shooting glasses (!), get a proper bite to eat and drink etc.
It'd be good to keep it to separate side though I reckon. Keep the theme of the event running throughout. Essentially like we've been taken off the front line for R&R and re-supply.
Certainly from an H&S point of view a break would be good though. As we saw on Sunday dehydration and hunger got the better of some people.
I really love the idea of kitting up for a whole 24 hours and carrying everything with you though and catching some shut-eye whilst someone else keeps watch.

Stand down for both sides for a couple of hours in early evening with all players back to base for a visit from the Gulash cannon . It would give us all time to see how they are getting on . The keen ones could go back out till dark , and the knackered ones sit at base .
24 hour events usually suffer from the disparity between people who want to play 24 hours (very few) and the ones who want to play two days with a kip at night (most) .
I have done "proper 24" hours at IED, which involves getting you head down during the day, getting shouted at to stand to at odd hours during the night , and then dragging your ass out on patrol in the dark which requires proper troop rotation . It's not to a lot of players taste (I'm a walting masocist) and we'd be better inforcing an easier route for all. ![]()
And here I was with my WW2 repro rations and full overnight WW2 kit, ready to really go for it... lol
Still can do , it was only an idea to discuss ![]()
I just had to refund an early pair of deposits... hence my post on the public forum.
Definitely a good opportunity to stand down, take stock and work out if things are going awry too.

I am concerned about the sudden spate of new bookings as a result of Arnhem... I do hope these new people understand that this will be a totally different type of game.
I've adjusted the title of the info thread to say **PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING** as that contains all the pertinent info.
One thing I just noticed re-reading that thread is that we are only charging

Question - what price per-person are IED charging for the weekends use of their site?

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Their green fee for regular weekend airsoft events is

Remember this is a totally different type of game.
This could involve defending for hours on end without seeing any sign of the enemy... it doesn't appeal to all airsofters.
I would like to keep out of this one as much as possible. Scenario shouldn't be too contensious anyway
. Want to put my spare time into re-building the web site if possible.
Re cost. At our last meeting I said that
