watch german ebay, I bought two from a guy over there for
I actually want two
So when clifton matt and i bivvy up at CR we can do so under a lean-to basha made of two zelts rather than my DPM basha sheet.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
pending on the button situation (ie if they're on or not) I think they maybe from studying the piccie but anyways if there are (buttons that is) then we'll only be using our zelts if it rains of for an extra layer, your more than welcome to use them for making a basha if suitable, as we'll have one each (2 )
edited to add, I think I can see buttons but not sure if am just wishfully thinking they are there, but these are the zelts winging their way to me, so you can decide if they may be useful or not
Yes, got mine the week before last - haven't dared try it out yet, I know it won't go back into the tiny package again!
We'll have the last laugh - all the others bearing a 12 pound smelly canvas effort and we breeze in with a 12 ounce package! (More room for food
)
You'll also need room for your silk pyjamas and velvet smoking jacket, I presume?
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
last time i had a 12 ounce package i got arrested!

Bet it smelt better than a smelly tent though

By the innuendo police?
well thats our tent here and a very nice shade of brown it is (bonus as they looked blue grey on ebay) just need some nice weather so I can attempt to pitch them in the garden
gadge and i are going to build a tent out of two zletbahn any recommedations on improvements that we can make cheaply to remove fear of rain and mozzies
Not many mozzies at IED as there is no real water on site. Plus you'll be camping in quite dense woodland so rain doesn't post a big problem either , hoever you could always use a modern bivi bag hidden away under your zelts .. Biggest issue is make sure you have a warm sleeping bag , the wind chill can be quite strong although not expecting major problems in mid summer .
no worries on sleeping bag front have a wonderful modern military issue sleeping bag so warm its unbelievable slept out with only it before in winter.
only cost 15 from a local surplus shop in kent
well I got a Brit WW2 tent (brown) for only 20 notes, I think if memory serves me right from Sabre Sales. It included the 8 wood pegs (which can be 50p in a camp shop), a mallet (again cost you a fiver I suppose), the 2 poles and tent itself. I've had it up in the folks garden with my neice and nephew playing with it and jobs a gudun-would certainly accomodate another person (at least) more if very friendly
does anyone know yet if the zeltbahn from sue sue on ebay need water proofing, all my stuff is ordered now so just waitin on arrivals including my first ever aeg well excited
Matt, I think it will - I will be doing mine.

I'm still going to use my modern khyam tent I'm afraid. I like my creature comforts! I will, however, be draping 2 rather large SS banners over it to conceal it's general oranginess. The funds have run out for the moment as the wife wants to decorate the living room, so zeltbahns will have to wait.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
If your coming on your own Sgt Heide , you can share a 1940's 3 man bivi with me as I'll have the space. I'll admit to snoring, but a compromise that could avoid an orange tent nastiness moment .
Thanks for the offer but my Brother is coming with me too. My flags are about 6' x 3', so they'll cover most of it anyway.

have a couple of spare, camouflaged ground sheets if use I can bring to help hide you're tent ?
Thanks Helga, that'd be great.

Wise move - Oldsweat wasn't joking about the snoring!
