Talking to PD today - he has just done at pyro course at Dragon Valeey and sai dit would make a great WW2 venue.
Period is right - 1939 explosives factory. Has some buildings and loads outside.
I've never been there but the pictures show it has potential - Russian/Belgian/German factory? So could be Ostfront or ETO...

Heh, it's in Wales but just over the bridge so not inaccessible. Anyone else been there?

An old friend of mine is very "in" with the DV organisers, i'll have a chat to him and get as much info about the site as possible.

Regarding other sites, ShadowOps (though in Kent), could be interesting for a Stalingrad type affair - its an old power station. Then there are two other sites down south. Spec Ops have a rather mental site that would do for North Africa, they also have a huge woodland site in Dorset as well.

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Is that the one that was in AI mag - a stone quarry of some sort?

So, two sites sorted for next year. Geographicaly 'up north & North Wales.

Chaps would go a bundle for a Stalingrad game - that power station site sounds interesting but very clean and open (pity we have allready done Phoenic Urban!). http://www.shadowopzairsoft.co.uk/flash.htm

'N Africa' (Portland) website: http://teamsmd.blackaqua.com/sow/index.php

Combat South's site is awesome and huge. Built structures, vehicles in-game, happy with camping, ideal for a weekender. They only charge £25 for the Vietnam weekender!

I played Caerwent at TA5 last September . It forms part of DV (they are running a game there this Sept IIRC)

It's not bad , the buildings are period ish ....however they are seperated by acres of open ground, which makes airsoft fitghing very hard. Ian reckoned the numbers of trip hazards etc were a nightmare as well . Be worth a look though , be nice to get another urban in .

I've put in an application for 6th June for Clocnaegog ....what we use it for is open to debate nearer the day .

Not been ot CSouth - could be good

BTW how is PB doing ?

I know Russ and Steve at Combat South well - been paying visits there for over 5 years now. I've even got to the point now where I can forgive Russ for being ginger

I've seen their little "village" grow and grow, and the bridge with watchtower and MG bunker is a cracking objective, as is the top of "hamburger hill" (a total bitch to take from any side - even more so in winter when there's no bracken to camouflage your approach from the north)

Regarding a "Stalingrad" game, i'm well up for that and I'm sure a lot of the players would too, especially in winter as a cheap Ruskie loadout would be an ex Brit greatcoat and a ruskie pilotka cap.

I've put in an application for 6th June for Clocnaegog ....what we use it for is open to debate nearer the day.

Some may consider that a little ironic, playing at WW2 soldiers on the 6th June, considering what its the anniversary of....

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Yep the irony wasn't lost on me either , however it was convenient . Had to check it wasn't a special birthday for my mother in law as she's 6th June as well !

Yeah, just noticed it on their homepage. Doesn't mention the name on the site page.... Doh.

Their green fees are very low.
