I've been talking to Alex/Tyreal who I know from Phoenix/F&O who has now set up his own 30 acre woodland site near Wakefield, located just off the M1 (J38 & 39), so easy to get to.
He is well up for a CiA game there.

30 acres is bloody small

However....

It might be perfectly suited for that Living History/Training Weekend/Piss-up idea that was being chucked around.

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

It's about 30% bigger than F&O:

Re a2C 2 - dates going to change to probs mid October after talking ot the nump from the FC, have ot resubmit but should be ok for go .

If Wotan 2 is end Oct , how does 11/12 or 18/19 Oct grab you and Jay ? Can't do it without you both

Good news is it means we could do Victory as well .

Wotan 2 is 1st/2nd November

12th October is F&O's WW2 game if Bollogs organises it!

I'm cool with 18/19 Oct for A2C2

Sounds good to me. I'm trying to stick to a rule of "no more than one event a month" - no matter what it is - at the moment.

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Re N. Wales in March. This would mean a sequence of N. Wales - Down South - N.Wales. Might be better to have a Midands-ish game for the first of the 2009 season?

Went with Guy for a site visit. Not a bad site at all. Terrain rises and falls all over, lots of natural cover, a few built mortar pits and barracades, remnants of a 10 year old paintball 'fort' - nicely decayed so not too gay (but they have plans to deconstruct and recylcle into something more military). The site was last used by bikes (I assume BMX sort of thing) so there are some worn paths, jumps and bridges that give an interesting terrain for fighting and it doesn't look out of place. A stream runs along one border of the side, another that drys up runs through the site. There is a long inclined railtrack that presumably served the quarry that has a nice little tunnel running across and below it.

Andy and Alex are nice blokes and very enthusiastic. Alex's mum does the catering (if we want).

£20 a head per player. Restrictions on TLSFX pyro only - mk5's plus 9mm BFGs.
I would have thought a 20 per side single day game would be cracking.

Access is very easy and close to an M1 junction.

Car park is smallish but fine for us. Site isn't huge (F&O sort of size) but in July was lush with ferns and deciduous trees - pretty dense at this time of year. It's going to be much thinner in March of course but the terrain itself has a lot of undulation and natural /built hollows so I wouldn't think it would be to bad to play in.

My plan is to go with James to their open day on Saturday 19th to get a better feel of how it plays and grab a few photos...

Yep not bad at all, should be relatively easy ot get a game out of it and the two lads riunning it are not the average mongs. Only problem I saw was pre event camping ....but a way to go yet.
Oh yeah and it's 20 minutes from my house  closest airsoft site for me .
