Just a few thoughts from me, both Op Aerial and other general stuff.

For me, the ghost of Autumn Mist has been laid to rest. No fucking around, no random running off just to engage the enemy. I was soooooooo fucking surprised when the Blaggers did as they were told when we were clearing the railway line. Yup, they spotted the Brits, but they kept to their allotted task - providing force protection for the Pioneers. In fact, I was almost in shock. I'd already built up a good bollocking to use if they didn't do as asked, so was pleasantly surprised at not having to use it.

What worked (in my view)

Being bastards. Seriously. "Here are you orders, carry them out". Punters seem to like it as well. I think that John M summed it up beautifully:

For me they're not about airsoft battles anymore but the whole experience & the feel that you're "living it" as much as possible rather than just taking part in a days airsoft.

Couldn't agree more! Personally, I fucking loved working with the Pioneers. Real tasks to do, not just "fuck off and find the enemy". It's something I intend to build upon (more on that, when I've worked out *exactly* what I want to do!)

Small fixed squads seemed to work very well. Having them regen then return to the CP for re-tasking undoubtedly made this easier.

Nice to see a return to the morning parade. IMHO it gets them "in the mood" for the event. Kicks them into the mindset first thing, before we get out into the field.

Superb weekend gents!

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

It's the same old same old , whether in management or services....people take their cue on how to act from the people "above" them .

Act likes it's for real and the players will do the same, treat it as a laugh and they won't take it seriously either . It's a thin line between the two but we're capable of treading it .

For as much as they are tossers in many areas IED staff we able to impart that 'soldierlyness' in spades without having to shout and scream, and their events were far more 'real' than all the others I have been to inc my own .

I agree with Jay , I think we've laid Mist to rest , and should keep games on this 'Here are you orders, carry them out' mode .
