- armalites
- steyrs
- P90s

I would think that on this firstone we really need to be as fluid as possible to make this accesable. IMO uniform loking about right is much more important for the feel than aeg.

I would suggest.

MP5 = Mp40 or sten
m14 = BAR/garand/G43
ak47 with full stock = mp44
any bolt actionsniper without scope = k98/m1/enfield
m249 or m60 = mg34/43 or m1919 (suitably converted with a card tube barrel cooler/cover thenits a vickers)

Any pistol.

Stuff i would prohibit.

Scopes of any type except for those playing snipers
silencers
tac lights or any ris accesory

I agree with Gadge...

Luckily now with the likelyhood that a good VCRB exemption will go through people will be able to get more suitable weapons in the future...

But right now I think we need to be flexible.

Yep I'm in accord. Gently with the "banned weapons" as at the end of the day they all shoot the same ROF and FPS near enough , but encourage people to flash out a little on the correct uniform
Yith posted earlier the correct hat makes a great deal of difference, perhaps we could give some more thought to this . If your biggest expense is 5quid for a beret or a German field cap lookalike, you might be more inclined to join in ?

Based on Gadge's list:

MP5 = Mp40 or sten - auto
m14 = BAR/garand/G43 - semi-auto
ak47/ak74 with full stock = mp44 auto
ak47/74 folding stock = MP40 auto
any bolt action sniper without scope = k98/m1/enfield single
m249 or m60 = mg34/43 or m1919 (suitably converted with a card tube barrel cooler/cover thenits a vickers) - auto

Any pistol.

Prohibit:
Scopes of any type except for those playing snipers
silencers (unless MP5 = sten)
tac lights or any ris accesory

IF we do allow other weapons (M16's etc) then they will be designated as semi-auto only. The bulk of weapons used in the period were single shot/semi-auto anyway - this will be the 'penalty' for not using looky-likey weapons on the approved list.

And of course proper WW2 weapons are allowed...

Oh and add that other unforeen weapons may be considered acceptable, but you must arrange it with a game organiser through these forums beforehand.

Okay... write it up... shove it on the website and also in a new thread in the public forum.

Unless anyone has anything else to add.

I had a thought on the support weapons Vickers/MG34/MG42 (M249/M60 etc)

Should we make it a rule that they can only be fired when deployed?

Should at that bit extra to the game I think...

I did consider a loader as well... but meh... you're right its too much...

But the whole must be deployed... what do you think?

And does this apply to brens?

Deffo - any automatic support gun should be deployed, no firing from the hip as it ain't an American war film! Having said that (to complicate things) at Beltring I saw a Bren belt that had a but fixture which I can only imagine made it possible to control the thing firing hand-held.

Anyhoo, I very much like the idea of a No. 2. I guess it depends on player numbers but it could work if the commander has the option of assigning a loader/spotter, the advantage being an extra allocation of ammo can be carried. The no 2 will be allowed to use his own weapon though, as it would be a very boring role otherwise.

Good stuff... its probably worth noting in the thread that the restriction on support weapons needing to be deployed will apply to all of them... whether they be proper MG42s or just M249s with cardboard bits on them...

Nope, not for me. We've said an MP5 would be ok...but that's just too far.

If we allow that, we'd have to allow G36 variants.

Nope, not for me. At a push, I'd say an MP5A3 would be ok...but that's just too far.

If we allow that, we'd have to allow G36 variants.

My thoughts exactly.
