I'm going to put my neck out and propose a motion.
I've been thinking about this for a while now.
It seems that the majority of us are going through some massive lifestyle changes at the moment. Jay's going to Uni, Guy's moved house about 15 times in as many months , Pete's always got very strict work commitments and things are all up in the air for me - in a few months time it's likely my workload will roughly double, or I'll be made redundant...either way, I'll even have less time or money to be able to get involved.
So, here's a suggestion.
Should we all just call it a day after Schaulen and wrap up the game organising side of things for CiA?
For my money no. We can carry on in real terms the amount of time required for each game is less and less as frankly we know what we are doing and aren't relying on large numbers of props or planning. The biggest ball ache is sites, some thing we all need to work on.
Fine, I've just been thinking (since the last game really) that it might be something we want to consider. That we could actually create a roadmap to wrapping things up and going out with a bang if we needed to, rather than failing to stage an event then having to peter out with a bit of a whimper.
I'm happy to carry on for now, but if work/money makes it untenable, I may have to step out of it all for a while.
Just trying to foresee some issues that may arise.
I'm not ready to quit. Aside from my work schedule (which I know WELL in advance), I will always put in maximum effort for CiA.

Stephen ,please if you've had enough then say now . Posting that after last night is a bit daft, having fallen out big style with David to assert our unity as a team , and then to say lets stop ? Might have well have agreed that earlier and let David take the forum on alone if we don't want to continue with events .
Few things I suggest need sorting in the next few weeks
The first thing to agree is that we are happy being able to put sometime and effort it going forward. If any of us feel that is a no go best say now, otherwise expectations will be raised only to cause upset later. I believe the amount of effort is less than it was , and we can tailor it to what people feel they can put it . Some thought as to whether we need to take more people on is also worthwhile .
We also need to agree what we are doing with the props David is currently storing at his studio . Whether we keep them all or not is probs worth a second thread as none of use have huge cars or storage areas . And TBh carting big props around has always been a pain in the arse .
Finally, the October game . we need a site and some thought as to what we are going to do . Stalingrad is alluding us again , perhaps we ought to file that and think less big ?
I have access to the wife's 4x4 for games, which is quite big and, I'll be using it for "Horn", so I can bring stuff home with me. Perhaps we can do some sort of deal with Josh for the drop containers? They're the biggest items we have and, are no great loss in my opinion. I have room for boxes and crates in my garage/shed.
As for taking on people, noone really leaps to mind for me who can put in the time and effort required.
I think that we should be holding some sort of "extraordinary a.g.m" at Horn, to thrash these and other things out. I now have the friday off (finally got some leave!), so can be there early evening.
I agree that we really need to have something sorted for Stalingrad by the end of April, latest. If not, swallow our pride and look at alternatives.

I was posting as a "Let's stop and think" suggestion before we did decide to plough ahead and realise that we actually might not have the personal capacity to continue. In other words is this a symptom of bigger issues that we haven't stopped to discuss. I was also thinking that if this were something we decided then it could be done with Dave on board still.
I'll really struggle to store anything as things are quite packed here as it is!
When I get some time I'll do some research on sites. Although doesn't Jay have something on the boil?
Cool , was wondering if you were having a moment there . We all have competing calls on our time, and having seen Jay tonight his is only going to get worse.
That said, we have 2 games in hand, and only one to pull out of the bag for 2011 . Which is a better position than we have been in for a long time . Achieved with a few phone calls and emails , not a huge call on anyone's time really .
We have core of good players, a very strong brand, we have put on more WW2 events than anyone else, and on the day we can perform very well . We don't need shed loads of props, most players provide more than we ever can so instead of trying to make things hard for ourselves lets divide up what little needs to be done to suit ourselves and concentrate on actually enjoying ourselves. I frankly don't care about other peoples events , who said what to who about us , or anything else with all this crap and bollox. We put on the best events, the style and take on them is unmistakably "CiA", and I always come away from then feeling really enthused and having enjoyed them , so for me that's what I'd like to keep on doing .
[Pete - Some sort of AGM at Horn is a useful suggestion, as is loosing the bigger bits of kit like the drop containers which are more burden than use .
Well, so much for having a meeting at Horn! A good time had by all though.
I eventually managed to squeeze into my car the drop container, ammo boxes, pyros, a roll of D10 and other assorted stuff. Steve has the ammo boxes, pyro's and accounts now. I'll look after the other stuff. Dave Barrett was kind enough to take the roadblocks, otherwise, I would have had to have gone back for them. I had no room for the water jerrycan, so "donated" it to Carl (no worries there, as I have another 3 in the garage, along with another ammo box, wooden crate and a pup tent). We made sure that the site was clean and spoke to John before we left.
The next we thing we need to attend to is a site recce for "Schaulen". We will also need to amend the plan to reflect the number of players who can make it (as well as how many organisers we will have).

I bloody knew I was missing a couple of things when I left the site - I got the FT's and the pliers back, but forgot the D10 and the cutters!!!!!!
Neill Boshier (Boshman) asked if he could borrow the air raid siren for AGS' bash - Guy & I had no objection to this. He lives just down the road from me, so it's easy for me to get it back anyway.
When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
When I left the site I told Stephen the D10 was by the field gate that the Brits had been using so hopefully that has been picked up.
I have the D10 (no clippers though).

Yes sorry for leaving with taking little , I hope you all saw the size of my car.
I suggest we need to have a think on props , what we keep and what we get rid off. TBH small working props that can be used in game are good in my book, large set dressing is not so . If we need large props specifically then suggest we make them on a one way trip basis ( like the V1) .
I have the cutters.

It would have been good if we'd have known you were leaving on Saturday. I had no idea and assumed you were staying, so it was a bit embarrassing asking people if they'd seen you only to be told you'd gone the night before!
I'll also make the point that it was a massive PITA having to collect everything up from both sides of the valley on Sunday (considering Pete and I also put that bloody drop container out) especially as we had no idea we'd be doing it ourselves.
Dave kindly left everything in a neat pile, but it's bloody lucky we could fit it all into Pete's car...and we looked like proper numpties having to ask Dave B to take the barriers. We also had to ask John if we could leave three bags of rubbish in his bin as we had no room to take them.
Communication....that's all that's needed!
Sorry flower. Thought myself and Jay had mentioned we were there for Friday only .

I knew Jay was going but didn't know you were. Nevermind, it just could have all gone tits up with the props. Luckily it didn't.
Did you not see my new car , I'm not in the Merc anymore . I didn't even have room for the siren .
