To quote a a certain Martin Luther King, "I have a dream". And its probably the dumbest idea ive ever had. And thats saying something (ok, not as stupid as seal launching in a Kayak off Caversham Bridge - that fucking hurt - but its close)

Put simply, WW2 Airsoft in Europe is really starting to take off. I know of groups in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, France, Germany and Italy. So here it comes. Dumbest idea of the year. How's about we sound them out about a BIG international game, in say, 2009 (yeah, long time away, but this shit takes time to organise). Temporary importation of RIF's isn't a problem (as long as they have evidence that they are coming to a game - and an official letter and contact details for the organisers will cover that)

OK, what do you guys think? (apart from having me sectioned under the MHA)

As I was plodding round the German forum I was pondering the same thing.

It does sound like a cool thing but I can't help but think what a friggin ball ache it will be to organise. Cripes, our local games are bad enough!

Definately not saying no but I need a lot of persuading that it's a sensible thing to do!

Biggest game i've organised was for 230 people. Ball ache? not as much as expected. Worth it? definitely.

The biggest problem it seems with "big games" these days (and i'm sure that Guy will agree) is that they all seem to be one man bands. Get a *good* team of organisers together, and delegate responsibility accordingly and its not too bad.

Heh, just had a German German airsofter join up (if that makes sense!).

He is talking about international cooperation...

I mentioned the war, once, but think I got away with it.

Not sure where I'll be in 2009, but I like the idea.

Do it properly with socials, plenty of big canvas, reasonable uniform and weapon restrictions etc and it would rock.

Did a game with 300 players once and the only real ballache was stopping them being complete twats at night, but these were mostly M4 heroes.

Worth talking about, certainly.

Ian got a lot of players from overseas for the TA events . It wasn't a big issue as they just turned up like everyone else. Biggest problems is assuming that Europe all plays ot the same set of norms which they don't .

Certainly not against this idea, and one ot keep to ourselves before Joshboy thinks of it.

As much as this sounds great, I've heard of more trouble from visiting foreign players than any other group.

That's not to say that I haven't also played with some foreigners that were excellent airsofters! Its just that as Guy says... we need to make sure they all understand us!
