Aitch has been on too.

Looks like there's been some activity on the dc forum today then!

I've just had another apology from Jeff - looks like they are making an effort to move on. I've also had a PM from bigUK asking to delete his account and saying he wished the forum was the fun place it once was. I said I won't delete the account, he is welcome to post any time he likes, as is anyone else in a mature manner.

Now, a favour Pete. He has a big gripe about you sniping at him. Whether or not it is true, regardless that he is a cock, regardless that it is fun to bait him - could I just ask that you PM him with some sort of conciliatory message, in a way you feel comfortable with? No need for apology but a sort of 'moving on' sort of vein? I know it will grate but they have had a slapping from their beloved Josh and it might just bring this to a close. Pretty please?

:slap: I've never sniped at him! I've only replied to his posts or confronted him when he's lied or been a dick (which is most of the time!). It's hard to be nice to someone who's tried (in a gay way) to threaten you.

If you forward the pm that he sent you to me, I'll see if there's any words I can find to try and talk to him.

Chomley,
I just feel the way Heidi conducts himself towards members of Dog Company is innapropriate. Now i thought we'd moved on from the saga we had a 18 months or so back. But he feels its appropriate to make silly comments about it, when ever possible.
I for one wasn't calling him out for a fight. I was in fact trying to invite him to a game, so that if he had a problem we cud sort it out in person. I left the forum after he made a gay comment, and haven't returned until today. So to find it had blown up, is distressing.

Regardless of the validity of his gripe and that the above is bollocks and that he isn't very bright (and we all know he has brought everything on himself) I think it might be worth just some friendly words at least.

Am I ok to quote from that pm Dave?

It'll be hard but I'll send him something. I'm certainly not going to apologise to the idiot, as I have nothing to apologise for.

As I say, no apologising required. In fact don't even reference the PM as it will only ding dong.

I'm sure something friendly is quite sufficient, I know it will hurt! You know, something along the lines of 'lets put it all behind us' sort of thing.

We have had apologies from Doug, Matt, Jeff, Pat and Alex and we can't expect any more really (on the forum anyway, on the field is a different matter  ).

Ok, I've drafted something to him. Haven't sent it yet!

Hello Big,

I thought it best to pm you personally, rather than post up for all to see and where things can get taken the wrong way and get out of hand quickly, as is the habit with any forum, where the lack of face to face contact makes misunderstandings more likely.

I think it's best we put all of the recent argy bargy behind us. I admit that I did have a problem with Dog Company trying to coerce players into boycotting CiA games, as I couldn't see the reason for why anyone would want to do that. I never saw any criticism of ours or PBI's events by members of DC until Gadge posted up some of the DC forum comments a while ago and they came as a big surprise to me and many others, as I feel they were invalid comments. Some of the comments we're all guilty of posting on this matter were damaging to all and make us all look bad to people browsing the forum.

I'll add that I never had a problem with DC as a whole, in fact, I get on very well with some of them. Don't think I've singled you out for any reason, I've had similar conversations with many forum members whom I think have stepped over the line at some point, from time to time. If you saw some of the stuff on the moderators section, you'd see it's not just me either!

I've taken no offence at your comments on the recent thread, hell, I get verbally abused, threatened and sometimes even assualted every day at work, so, it's nothing new to me.

So, in summary, I'm happy to forget the whole thing. I hope you are too and we can all move on from here.

Regards,

Pete.

That's me trying to be nice.

That's great.

Just change CiA 'games' to 'events' and it'll be perfect! :good: ;)

Blimey, more than I was expecting! I like the way you worked in Gadge's name as the whistle blower.

 Just thought I'd remind him that's it's not just the "evil" CiA team! (Even though gadge has been sucking up to them lately in his efforts to become the "don" of WW2 airsoft).

Edit - I've amended it for spelling and sent it.

His reply....

Thanks for your email..

Whilst i wont hide the fact that i dont attend the CiA organised games. We initially chose not to attend the games through comments made about a photoshoot for Ai Mag. They were hurtful, especially when i was told by headshot that i was a 'disgrace to the dead soldiers for wearing my belt inncorrectly'.

We didn't go to games, and pass leaflets out telling people to boycott CiA games. We voiced our thoughts to a few people (3 or 4) whilst at a game, during a conversation about the comments. Who then went on to whistle blow, and blew it out of proportion. By saying we'd asked them to not to attend, anymore games. Which as far as im aware is not true.

Ever since then our relationship with CiA/PBi has been on edge. Gadge has tried to repair the damage over the photoshoot comments. But we dont have trust in CiA to protray our group in a fair manner. Because we feel, its never been forgotten.

I personally dont find the CiA games appealing anymore. To me your marketing your games, to a niche market of reenactor's who want to play airsoft. This then raises the kit level, and narrows timelines.

I prefer Josh's Gunman games, as they are more fluid, rather than story led. Josh trusts us to do a good job, and help make his games memorable. Our relationship with Josh goes back 10 years for some members.

We've put alot of time and money into Dog Company, paying out for 3 jeeps, and 1 truck. Plus the endless amounts of weapons that we now have. We have an excellent website, which is regularly visited by people seeking answers. We all professional people, we love what we do. Its a passion not just a hobby.

Our criticism of PBi & CiA games was meant to be private, but a forum oversight meant it was public. It was never intended to be made public knowledge. I'm sure you've voice similar views on Dog Company in private.

Now im tired of being continuely reminded of a mistake made 18 months ago..We all want to move on, and get on with enjoying airsoft. As im on the edge of giving it up all together.

I really think an apology from the whole CiA is over due. It would certainly help build our trust back in the community, and might make us consider coming back to attend your games.

Thanks.

Matt

Oooh, its so tempting to rip one straight back.

CiA owes no apology, feck it was nice of Pete to even PM him. And no, sorry, we don't want to at our games for all the reasons he lists in his PM!

But hold fast. He is a twat, we all know it, just forget him and move on.

As im on the edge of giving it up all together.

Jump! Jump!

'disgrace to the dead soldiers for wearing my belt inncorrectly'.

That's a misquote, I actually said "It's a bit of an insult to those who made the ultimate sacrifice"

He won't get an apology from CiA, I already retracted (and reiterated the retraction) the comments I made about them being a bit of an insult to the past as it was a bit silly really. However, my comments were made because they were representing the 101st at reenactment events where MOPs take everything at face value. They were messy, their kit was all over the place and they wearing anachronistic kit, including a red t-shirt and stripy socks in one instance.

I was asked to list the errors I saw, which I did, including BigUK's belt being undone whilst posing for photographs on their diorama, they then blew it all out of proportion saying we were elitist and know-alls.

We've since asked them to return to the forum, have given assurances that they're welcome to our events and have replied cordially to many of their posts.

This guy has a serious chip on his shoulder. Since I had 4 years experience of US airborne, and many of them had only been at it for a few months, I felt a bit of advice would be taken on board. Obviously not.

S

Fine by me.

They clearly have a total misunderstanding of how our events work.

That, and a total inability to be on the go for the whole day. So what if they dont like the CiA way of doing things and they just stick to Josh's games - they can get fucked as far as im concerned.

I was at the wifes' shop when I read fatarse's pm, so I didn't have time to type a "considered" reply but I have had time to stew on it before getting home. His reply only serves to underline what an utter knobjockey he is and I won't be gracing it by replying to it myself, he's too stupid to read the text properly. F**k the lot of them.

If someone less prone to swift and blinding violence than I am wants to reply to him, go for it.

I won't be replying, we have gone the extra mile to make amends. No point going any further.
