And needs a bit of thought too!
From Josh:
Hi Dave, I cant believe this, but my sister has offerd to cover me on our weekend so I can actually come and play a game
If you'll have me Im happy to play either side and badge up with what ever you need. I can honestly say this is my kind of a game, living out in the field with objectives...spot on!

Is he referring to Jedburgh? Mind you, I'll believe it when I see it.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Yup, Jed. I think he is making the effort to extend a hand, being aware that he has yet to come to a CiA game.

Well, it's a nice enough gesture, although, again, I'll believe it when I see it. DON'T give the fecker a free place though! He expected me to pay full whack for "Caen"!

I had a free place.

Ah well, I suppose it's the price I pay for criticising him.

What a nice sister you have!
That would be great Josh and we will be glad to have you there. We don't need any kit or props as we are all sorted so just your good self is fine, come and have a play instead of working.
As for sides, well, three different sorts of gameplay - the Germans will have a proper working and comfy base and so less physically demanding, SAS will have a basic base but it won't be plush and the Jeds will be out there with nothing other than what the can carry on their backs or find in the field.
cheers
David

Fantastic, sooooo excited
I have German Kit, very basic Brit but that can be sorted. I love the great outdoors and love the idea of Jeds. I cant choose lol!
See how the bookings go and fit me in bud! I do get on the the 16th so can always badge up to join them if places look light on germans..lol not likely.
All good matey, ill wait till the booking thread is opened then jump on board.
cheers again mate

Absolutely NO WAY he'd make it as a Jed, not with his gob.
I suggest a gentle push toward the German side.....

Fuck right off. I want to capture the fucker and torture him. I suggest a new role. Downed pilot, with the very barest of essential kit required for the event. ![]()

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Seriously though, he wouldn't make it as a Jed....not without me offing him.

Stick him in a parachute and hang him in a tree, then leave him there! No trouble for anyone then.

He doesn't even have to be in your group Stephen, maybe you will never see him! Seriously, you need to be picking Jeds for their ability in the field and their contribution to the event, not because you don't want to play with them. ![]()

Yes, but seriously.....he's not the quietest chap is he? Not that I've seen him play... Perhaps we should invite him to the training day.

Well, I have and he is just like any leader - shouts orders when needs be.
In the selection process you might evaluate player's experience - you will probably find he is much more experienced than you at both playing hard core games and living outdoors!

I've got no idea what he's like as a player. Only seen him play at D-Day, when, to be fair, he kept charging into the teeth of concentrated K98 and smg fire and managed to get others to come along with him too. If he gets "in character" at Jedburgh, I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'd even have him as an SAS trooper if noone else wants him. He'll get to see how we run an event and maybe, just maybe, take some of it on board for his games. I think that I, more than anyone (except maybe Jay!), needs to get on with the bloke!

Well, all I can say (from a gaming POV) is he got stuck in at Hurtgen and got the side working well and at AC2 he did everything asked of him and helped the event along without prompting.

Fair enough. You know him better than I do. Like I say, I'll take him as SAS if Steve doesn't want him. He'll still be living the outdoor life! Or, if we are struggling for Germans, he's got ready made friends with the Blaggers.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
LOL, 'friendship' with the Blaggers is one way - the only reason Dave is going to Caen is because it is free and he wants to get good use out of his toys! (Which is fair enough, if I has a 222 I'd want to drive it to work every day
)

BTW - I don't like the bloke personally and much sets my teeth on edge but as a player with an organiser head screwed on I'd prefer him to Yith or Gadge any day - to get things done knowing he won't wimp out, will stay on message and will think of the event as a whole rather than personal foibles!
