So no PBI games this year - official! At least he conceded to the obvious.

Wladek hasn't done himself any favours in my eyes either!
I don't really know what he's going on about with the whole "contradictory orders" think, the orders were to attack the bunker and not hide behind trees.
I caught him getting shot traversing the boggy open ground in front of the bunkers twice too and told them that if I saw anyone walking across the open ground again I'd shoot them myself.
Perhaps he's referring to when we were suddenly outflanked and had to fight on two fronts.

Ah but, now I see that Josh is stirring it by offering to do a "joint" game with them. They have short memories, as pbi tried to entice the gunman fj bumboys to St.Lo and that didn't work. All of a sudden, josh gives it his blessing and they are best mates again?
It's all getting a bit political for me.

I still want to know what these were the two games Gunman was supposed to have organised with Gadge.

I think josh is getting confused again. Wasn't Varsity put on with help from gunman? And gadge and the gayboys went to Sennybridge. I think that's most likely what josh is on about.

Hmmm in neither case did one organise for another, they just attended someone else's event.
I do vaguely remember Gunman organising an event at F&O Matlock which went foobar and Gadge wrote the gameplan. So that's one event.

Can we have a forum for this Minsk game? Or would you rather we only have a small thread??
Cheers guys
Josh
He just doesn't get it, does he?

not in my book he does.nt
Go on then. How was Border Clash?

Hmmm, well.....
OK, the positives. Great to see 'our' chums at a game and have a natter. Porta and Tiny were at their nutcase best - they gave 100% to the game too, Porta being the the most filthy player and probably the most knackered - the maxim was a beast.
Josh is an excellent host it has to be said, everyone laughing at the start of the game and at the end. The site was no more than OK - flat, not a lot of cover as there was no foliage in the deciduous wood. Quite a few bunker, mg positions and trenches though, so very skirmishable.
The scenario hadn't had a huge amount of thought and gameplay was changed on the fly if Josh felt one side was being demoralised slightly. Sunday was completely made up on the day.
Gameplay was pretty good, no problems with anyone even though there were a few first or second-timers and a couple of youths.
Complete downer were his 'FJ2 lads' who were complete arseholes, particularly the CO & no 2. A carbon copy of Dog Co - 'elitist' and not team players. I had to facedown the No2 (CO having walked off the game) as he said "This is a Gunman game not a CIA game. We do things our way, the FJ stick together and we don't take orders." My reply - "I'm in charge, I have to know what everyone is doing and where they are - you follow my orders." He was speechless!!! In the end I compromised. Well, gave in. Fuck off and do your own thing then.
Luckily on the second day it was easy to split us into two so I had no involvement with them. To be fair the CO did come up to me at the end of the weekend and shook my hand and said "Well done mate" (with no irony I could detect) so perhaps he realised he had been a tosser. Anyway, absolutely no way they would be welcome at a CIA event.
All the other Germans were spot on - enthusiastic, listened, cooperated and what they were being asked to do and why.

My thoughts...
I had a pretty good time, I'll admit. Mind you, I only had a squad to command, not an entire side! I had Tiny and Porta in my squad and, we had a whale of a time with each other (both in game and at the social!). Also, once we realised what a bunch of dicks the gunman regulars are (one of them wouldn't let me look at his Mosin!), most of the CiA regulars banded together and made our own game of it. We did the same on sunday and, of the 17 "escapes", all were down to our group and teamwork!
I found the lack of planning a bit of a shock and agree with Dave that the site was only average, with the same ground being fought over constantly. Also, despite Josh saying we would play non stop on saturday, he blew a whistle for a "brew up break", right in the middle of a Russian assault on the German c.p!
As for FJ2, they are total wankers. One of them said to his gang of girlfriends "who's the shithead in charge of the Germans?" and, I pulled him on that straight away, ready to deck the c-nut if necessary, in front of said girlfriends. I agree that, should they ever try to come to one of our events, we should tell them to f**k off.
Edit - I also told Josh, point blank, that the reason why many CiA players (myself included) shy away from his games is because of cock company. I also pointed out that the FJ guys were dicks. He admitted that they "didn't really get it" but, he was stuck with them!

WTF?
Glad you had a good time.
Out of interest, how the hell did Tiny burn himself so badly!?

The gunman bloke was just a cock. I just thought "well, f**k you pal" and, made sure that I gave him some friendly fire at the end of saturday's play!
To be honest, I had a good time because of "our" players and I, with our collective decision to make our own game of it, once we realised that Josh's gameplan was wank/non existent!
Tiny got burned when the flames from the petrol fuelled fire went inside and up his panzer wrap! Basically, the "standing in the fire" shennanigans involved throwing increasingly larger quantities of petrol into the fire, whilst the victim stood on a log in the middle of it! Somehow, I ended up doing it myself but, Porta and Tiny did it many times! (The video that I shot is very funny though!)

To be fair, he had a point.
...whilst the victim stood on a log in the middle of it! Somehow, I ended up doing it myself ...
Thank gawd I went to bed at 8.30! After Porta had spilt petrol next to my hurricane lamp and nearly set me on fire I thought that the evening was heading towards a Porta/Tiny special and beat a hasty retreat. OK, I'm
.
BTW, the non-FJ non-CiA Germans were all OK, no problems with them at all.

I see from Wladek's video that the fat fuck with the long curly hair was on the Russian side....

That's bigkie - actually a nice bloke. Quite why chaps wear ponytails I have no idea. And they always have skaggy hair too, never sleek or well groomed or healthy looking!

Mine was, but that was the nineties! ![]()

Jesus Christ! Have you seen how much the caterer chap wants to charge for food at Nijmegen?!?
http://gunmanforum.com/index.php?showto ... entry44064
£15 per person for that!?!

Some mugs will pay it.
