Well, i've just had a couple of phone calls from players @ Josh's Carentan event. One from Monaf (so pinch of salt with that) another from a contact of mine who is there.

Seems that Josh has lied through his teeth about the numbers. 60 max. Far short of the 120 he was apparently promising. They've had 4 hrs gameplay today, and will get the same tomorrow, which means its cost players over £10 an hour

Game design is getting a right slagging. Germans started in the village, Yanks outside. One sole mission - Yanks have to take village, problem is that the Yanks haven't even managed to get into the village.I've played Longmoor several times in modern gear. In short, war of attrition does not work there - even with 100 a side. It becomes a Mexican standoff every time.

Seems like he's royally fucked up this time. Lot's of bitching and moaning apparently.

Just a thought but would it be worth removing Josh's ability to delete posts?

Del's already posted a leading question, and I don't want him deleting honest comments.

Thoughts?

Personally, I don't have a problem with that, but to make it look like it isn't discrimination solely against Josh, it would have to apply to all non-CiA organised game forums.

True, or as I've mentioned in the other thread that Yith and Gadge are talking on, I suppose we should actually wait until he actually does it, if he ever does.

I'm sure Dave will reply with some sensible non-reactionary post that makes perfect sense and isn't contentious! ;)

Yeah, good point. David does have a habit of being reasonable, sensible & balanced, where I, on the other hand, tend to go for unreasonable and (mentally) unbalanced.

Hmmm, independent reports put the player numbers at 120 and game play as excellent. Seems Monaf might have been a little off with his comments....maybe??

I dont trust a word Monaf says (hence my "pinch of salt" comment in the first post). I do however, trust my other source...

Josh is up to his old marketing tricks again: viewtopic.php?f=51&t=6411&view=unread#unread

Pretty poorly veiled I have to say, the lack of a booked players thread is deeply suspicious.

No, I know. I wanted to know how many of our membership are attending. Don't care about Josh's shit-kickers.

Well, those that have answered have shown they have no choice but to say they are going to PBI/Gunman/ExSite games - because there are no CiA games!

If Jay is checking out the site for the E&E game end Feb, and if it's OK then Guy has got to go a recce and given how things pan out then realistically it's a late summer game - September, say. Clearly we are a long way off from being able to give out a date (which is a shame as chaps do book holidays to fit in with our games).

But what we can do, and fairly swiftly, is announce a game for July at the site near Guy (err Fearsome I recall) that we did a recce of last year. A small 20 a side game is do-able and it would be nice to do a Mediterranean game of some sort. (With the hope we can do a Russian urban in December). The woods will be nicely filled out and it would be great if we could do something that involves a lot of role playing to get away from the blatting behaviour of Autumn Mist. A British v German theme would be good as in June there will have been US vs German in the PBI game.

Thoughts?

Yep, agreed. We need to get the dates sorted. July is good for me. September's ok, but would prefer early to mid September.

December would need to be before the 20th at the very latest.

Just had speaks with Guy (on fag break  )

How about Operation Dynamo for the July game - Late May 1940, Brit v German
September - E&E late war NW Europe somewhere - Allies v German
December - Russian Stalingrad/Leningrad - Germans v Russians/partisans/civilians

Yep, happy with that.

September could be the Norway/Heavy Water Plant game we've talked about for ages. Perfect for E&E.

I was just double-checking on forum permissions and I seem to have accidentally removed web-bot and guest accessibility to the Gunman section. Damn!
