Hi
im sure you have a lot of interest regarding people taking photos and capturing footage of the event. well im interested in working on something with you event? im a teacher in media and in my spare time i work on music videos etc. well im trying to push out a decent portfolio of work and feel this could be an interesting event to cover.
the idea would be to make the event look as realistic on film as possible by adding various flash effects for guns and explosions etc etc... but if it isnt what you want to show as a group maybe i could cover the event in a documentary style....???
let me know if your interested and maybe we can work from there??
thanks

Well, despite the poorly composed proposal and lack of capitalisation
(heh, unless it's a very clever ploy I think we can assume therefore he is a media teacher
) I offer this for discussion...

Call me paranoid, but.......
Airsoft guns + German uniforms = Daily Mail type media frenzy. Remember what happened to the SBG at Beltring?

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Nah, sounds like a load of rubbish. Media teachers don't 'do', the teach.
I could get one of our events fully covered for filming by some of my contacts. The reason I haven't is because it's boring to watch and is very intrusive. Airsoft just isn't a spectator sport, videos are only good for narcissistic reasons.

OK, no worries, I'll tell him his no good at videos 'cos he's a teacher and he is also out to do harm to airsoft by showing us a a bunch of Nazis.
Bit disrespectful of teachers though, both mine and Guy's wives are teachers.

So was my mum. Didn't mean to be offensive towards them, but media teachers aren't filmmakers usually. Does he have an online showreel we could take a look at perhaps? Maybe we shouldn't just write him off, there are always exceptions to the rule.
BTW, I've seen many MANY short films sent in to our film schemes by media teachers and they are, without exception, all awful. My favourite was one that featured a sex scene where the crew were clearly visible in a window reflection, although the filmmaker would probably spout some crap about the Brechtian ideal.

Nah bollox it off IMHO .
I've invited Gav up forthe weekend , he'll do us some stills ( and anything else we might need if we ask him nicely )
