Sure, but 'fun' means different things to different people.

I'm more of the opinion of 'live and let live' - lifes too short to get wound up about folk. Especially on stupid forums.

Yeah, good point. I've got enough people to wind me up in real life, let alone on t'internet. Still, it's hard work not letting certain individuals get my back up

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

No disagreement there.
Do what I do, work alone all day - it's sends you mad but at least I don't get wound up by workmates. (Sorry, stupid argument - I curse my clients to buggery when I've put the phone down!)

While Guy is off in a huff do you want to move that thread back Kermit?

As I said I don't have a problem with it and it will look odd making it vanish from the punter's POV. You have tickled some player's fancies so there must be some merit in it, just don't expect me to take part

Gah! Just seen your edited post Jay. Heh, just pity Rich's poor wife!

:ghey: I'm finding it hard to maintain a "huffiness" after that post .

TBH I don't mind people being anal about this if that's what they want , I'll try to support if I can (and don't mind getting told to fuck off for my pains) and maybe have a snigger behind the scenes at it , however I wish the same live and let live would apply to a light hearted view of this hobby.

"you're making it shit" was what Rich said, why should I take that ? Playing dungeons and dragons six nights a week is shit IMHO , running Goth clubs is shit, but I wouldn't upset them by saying that to them .

TBH my favourite crew on here were Tony and his brother , total loons . Like it or not- my sort of people .

I would suggest that, as far as I am concerned , I think we could do with a bit of a debate about where we go in 2008 . We signed the forum over to David last year and it takes up a lot of his time . Frankly , I spend too much time on here already and TBH have little to add to most of the discussions . If I change jobs shortly then this will have to change anyway , 6 hours a day will eventually get me sacked.

For my money , & only for my money, we set this up to organise a game . This was my interest in badgering Yith to begin with , because that's what I wanted to do . TBH that's all I really want to do .

Organise the best games we can ,4 times a year.

If we want to do other things , thats fine by me too , if we don't want to do this then fine as well . I would like to define the role I will take in this group rather than have expectations put upon me , with attendant disappointment when I fail to become excited by TDs or photoshoots , button counting or whatever.

If CiA want to go in a completely different direction then I'm cool with that as well .

So , pretty please with sugar on, lets not duck the issue and decide what it is we want to be and do .
I'm not prepared to have another week like this one .

Why was this week any different to the others? More of the same as far as I can see!

What is difficult to grasp is hypocrisy - might be the wrong word. We (all four of us) are equally anal about kit. I was amused when handing over the AI mag with the D-Day article to Stephen when he proceded to tut about so & so's boots, and this and that's wrong. That's not being critical, just an illustration of how we are all the same. No, I mean similar. I'm poring over a repro BD looking at the fibre content. Jay has kit more puikka than pukka kit. Guy buys a hand-made suits. Yith buys a bren gunners manual to find out what side the No 2 goes on! Etc etc.

Guy posts on the wrong section deliberately and Richard thinks it looks shit. It did!

Getting wound up about other people's attitude and approach won't help the 'cause'. It will just make your head hurt.

As a reminder, our 'constitution'
The CiA remain faithful to their aims:
Non-profit making and site independent
Organise WW2 games that follow a 'film-sim' principle (restricted ammo, authentic uniforms and weapons, period props) giving a high degree of suspension of belief
Clear and consitent rulles for CiA and CiA supported games
Encourage site owners to run like-minded WW2 games
Create a hub for WW2 airsofters to share their enthusiasm
Forge links between suppliers, sites and players
Keep an 'friendly and inclusive' approach rather than 'elitist and stitch-counting'

Nothing changed there, we are still following the same path. I don't see an issue.

Christ I go away for a couple of hours...... ;)

True, I did tut at the mag but only at the people with long hair hanging out really. The boots don't bother me one bit unless there's a tag next to the image saying how everything in the pic is authentic, which there wasn't.

I don't see anything having changed this week to be honest. We've got two games on the boil at the moment with a third potentially in the pipeline, which is the main reason we do this. The forum is a very resourceful by-product of that.

I didn't have much of a problem with Guy posting where he did, mainly because I hardly noticed it. I just find the idea of this splinter group a bit of a giggle and thought it might make a few people have a laugh. It's hardly likely to go anywhere really!

Rich is a bit of a tit and sometimes I'm completely bewildered by his outbursts, likewise Gadge. Having said that, there have been a couple of times recently when I've been surprised by some of the things you've typed on here Guy. I wouldn't call them outbursts, more like exasperated sighs! ;)

I continue to bimble along happily and generally enjoy this whole enterprise and hope that you guys continue in the same direction, or at least a similar one!

Ta

LOL, I wasn't having a go Steve, just struggling to illustrate a point.

Heh, we (CiA forum users) are all nobs and tits in our own way - though some are more nobish and titish, that's granted!

Why is this week notlike all the others ?

Lets see we started off trying ot get Frenchie to get UKARA to recognise the Reeanctor defence as away of providing our forum members a route ot buying RIFs met with indifference

Followed on by Stubblehopper telling me to stick it up my arse when i tried to help him with his video shoot

Followed on by all the bollox between Gunman, us and Charlie over longmoor

And finally when I post up sommit cooked up between myself Major and Jay as a bit of light relief I get told its shit /fuck off

So.... from my POV I feel it's been :banghead: all fucking week .

So therefore I plan to take a back seat on this forum for a while . I like playing airsoft with my mates and organising games , so that's what I plan on concentrating on as far as CiA are concerned . Stuff the politics and anals.

It's not that it's not been a weird week with all that happening, more that you seem to be taking things more and more personally. A couple of times your 'got in a huff' at a couple of things Dave's said to you in response and I don't know why.

None of the things you have cited above are anything to get over concerned or worried about.

Let's look at it this way, you've mentioned three things there that are completely out of your control, namely SH being precious, Gunman/Charlie/Monaf cocking up Longmoor and Rich saying that something's shit. You don't really have a huge amount of respect for two of those people (and neither do I really) so why are you bothered about their opinions and pettiness? The Gunman thing is something we discussed briefly over a period of a day or so then decided to cage for a while because of a conflict of interests with Gunman over TEHL.

The fourth thing you mention was something we discussed as a group and decided not to pursue at the moment because of various legal and practical issues. Given Frenchie's recent revelation it's kinda good that we didn't pursue it, although that's completely serendipitous.

I guess I've just noticed that the level of your exasperation is higher than normal and you're seeming to snap at people a little without much justification.

There are surely many, MANY more important things in life.

Maybe you should take my approach to many of the people on this forum, one of mild disinterest, then you don't get bothered by stupid PMs asking you to fund a video of someone's wet dream. ;)

Best plan Guy - you are getting stuff out of perspective.

'We' didn't approach Frenchie - you did without involving your three partners. With no plan or objective that stood up to scrutiny and had been already extensively explored last year.

No one told you to your 'light relief' was shit/feck off - Rich told you it looked shit in the Wanted section, it did. He could have moved it but was polite enough to ask you to move it yourself - if he had moved it you would have thrown a wobbly. On a loser there, either way.

I didn't much care for the angle of the 'humour' nor do I much care for the Panzers malarkey, but hey, that's what people want to do, so fair enough. I haven't obstructed either but then neither will I participate.

You greatly pissed me off this week (hence my 'unavailability' until after the weekend, that didn't last long did it!) but I am under a huge time pressure at work - composing long and carefully constructed forum replies has got to stop, so this will be the last. (Said with tongue in cheek knowing damn well it won't work out like that  )

Anyhoo, onwards and upwards (or sideways maybe).
