I agree with the sentiments Gadge. Judging from Chris' last post though I think he has almost forgotten the question he posed at the beginning of the thread, which was to ask for opinions and opinions is what he got!
Clearly, suitable kit for playing in WW2 games is a separate issue and has nothing to do with this thread which relates to Kampfgruppe SS only.
While Chris has solicited opinion it may well be easier to say 'this is how it's going to be', as PBI have done. An 'ideal' kit list and an 'acceptable' kit list for those who want to work their way up. If kit/badge/rank rules don't suit then clearly Kampfgruppe SS won't be the group for you - group membership requires some commitment I would have thought and doesn't have anything to do with 'elitism' but more to do with specialisation.
Interestingly, Doughboys and Landser have taken a more relaxed approach - after all there is no right or wrong way to do this, whatever works is the right way!
