Gunman, airsofting for poofs: viewtopic.php?f=51&t=3970

It's like a fucking wedding, not an airsoft event. Beer tent too. I hope we never reach this level of sophistication.*

*For sophistication read 'money-making scam'

Heh, you misery - there is free tea and coffee!

It will be a very quiet wedding though - not too many guests.

Heh!

Nah, it's just not my taste. I don't like the idea of a WW2 airsoft event which is more beer tent and catering than actual airsoft. Josh is concentrating on making money out of people on overpriced ale, which people will inevitably bring themselves anyway, rather than making the game good.

I tells ya, if I hear that fucking whistle one more time.......... -toot!

I wonder if you are allowed to take your own cans of beer into the tent? ;)

I'm 50/50 on this event now David , I'll decide for sure after next weekend . If I jib I'll let you know before I give Josh a load of cobblers as to why I can't come .
Put bluntly, I'm fucked if I wasting a weekend supporting his event when I've got shit loads of work on at the house, and as none of our regular crew are going , the social aspect of the event is nil IMHO .

Don't put off the decision - if your not going then tell Josh ASAP. He is still expecting Headshot, Gadge & Kermit to turn up - unless they have told him they definately aren't. It will look realy bad if a week before the event he sudenly realises he doesn't have a strong German command and CiA have turned their backs on him.

Wanker (Josh) phoned me up today . He was peed off at the AI article about Eagles, two pages of waffle and dissing Tudd's .

More to the point he told me that the crankshaft of his little Vitara jeep was broken and he was blaming it on Yiths driving at Eagle . This is obviously bollox if you know anything about Yiths pussy driving or know how crankshaft oil seals work, and obviously it's now over a month since he drove it . Anyway I didn't argue , just told him there was no way we were taking liability for the repairs (he claimed that was why he was calling me) and if he wanted to take it up with Yith feel free (he said he probably wouldn't bother) .
What a cock .

If i remember correctly, it was about 2 lines of text, somewhere near the end - something along the lines of "well designed game that shows what you can do with a site thats nothing special" - or something like that.

And let's be honest, the site *is* nothing special. I've played 30+ sites over the years, and maybe 2 or 3 are what id call something truly out of the ordinary...

Still, I don't give a flying fuck what Josh thinks lol

Can someone please scan the article and post it here please? I can't get hold of AI anywhere.

BTW, I drove that peice of shit 'jeep' very carefully and it was absolute cack. He'll need a new clutch in about 1000 miles too, and the steering was shagged too. God knows how that thing gets through an MOT.

The site is horrible, and I mentioned to Josh that it's a really difficult site to plan a game around, but he claimed he'd had loads of good games with 'up to 100 people' on it. Hmmmmm.

Anyway, best be off. It's getting late here.

S

Heh, found the mag in a newsagents in Coventry - very pleased with the review! (Although I can see why Josh wasn't so pleased!)

Twatybollowwankernobend called me again today ...heh...even Heather (15) said he sounds like a plonker...... :D

Do we as CiA want to go to Beltring to help him organise an airsoft battle on the Saturday night in the main arena for reenactors?

Why are you doing that Josh ?

Oh I'll make a couple of grand ......er....... to get more people into the WWII airsoft etc blox blox blox

Personally would rather be gang raped by the Coldstream Guards followed by having my genitalia removed with a rusty fork than spend any more time in his company...but thought I'd throw it open to general discussion . If the general consensus is no then David and I can let him down gently at the weekend.
Frankly would like little more to do with him, the bloke has the morals of a whore.

I'm not personally bothered about his revenue raising. Heh, I've raised a family and run a home, and made provision for the future, for the past 25 years - let me tell you it's feckin hard graft and you take what breaks are offered or you make for yourself, yah lazy salaried 9-5 + holidays bastards  (despite the temporary arrangement Guy!)

Nay, what bothers me is the potential damage this will do to all we have done over the past 18 months in elevating WW2 airsoft to something vaguely respectable and enabled us to look eye to eye with reenactors without shame or embarrassment. I'll have nothing more to do with associating with Gunman from D-Day +2 onwards.

And yes, I'm aware that it was me that pushed to do something with Josh in the first place. I wasn't wrong, it was worth a shot - Gunman and CiA used each other for mutual advantage, but it's gone as far as it can now.

Amen to that brother .

Not just you pushing Josh forwards , we all felt there was a benefit at the time and he was an unknown factor, it was also partly the reason we split with the other two if you recall . Time has proved him not to have put on any real good events (one duff and many cancelled) and I suspect Glory will be the final nail in the coffin .

His unabated enthusiasm for profit , and his obvious lack of any real interest in the WW2 genre, means he is diameterically opposed to what we are.......obvious bedfellows we are not . I'm sick of feeling "used" to make him richer TBH, and my own dealing with him seperately amount to the same thing.

As Jay would say "bloke's a cunt"......I don't want to spend my time with cunts either. Present company excepted of course

'Blokes a cunt. End of story.

Dumbest fucking idea i've heard in years. Main arena at Belters has a couple of hillocks in it, and thats it. No woods, no bunkers, no cover. Not to mention the fact that there is nothing to stop the BB's leaving the arena - H&S and insurance allowing it? not a fucking chance. Pissed re-enactors, with Airsoft guns - fucking stupid idea.

I can guaran-fucking-tee that this idea was Josh's. Rex Cadman who runs W&P is a genuinely nice guy, but a right push-over.

A word in the right ear (AFRA's) on this issue would be a good plan. Don't need that arsehole Josh screwing things up for the *whole* of WW2 Airsoft.

Just removed this from Spiers' FOR SALE thread about his iPod:

"And I just thought, I'll send a disc along with the full BoB series and SPR on ipod format (mp4) might be able to rustle up Kelly's Heroes as well."

Prick.
