I care. We have put a lot into getting WWW2 gaming going in the direction we want, it would be a pity to lose the momentum. He has asked us for our involvement. You could be cynical and say he just wants access to our player base or be positive an say he wants to get it right.

Being a positive and optimistic person by nature I would much rather accept our limitations and embrace this rather than sit back and knock it.

If its shit and got nothing to do with what we've been doing so far then we should not embrace it as its nowt to do with our events.

If it looks good and is going to build on what we've done so far then thats great and we should get involved.

To be honest though, it doesn't look like he's even looked at our rules yet... at least thats what I think from reading the ruleset you just posted.

If he doesn't change stuff that we see as being rubbish (see my other post) then I say we steer clear of it.

I looked at his rule set today

*wayyyyy* more complicated than ours.

Each player has sets of skills like a proper rpg including one that gives you the ability to ignore hits if you're moving!

By all means lets have a chat but i'm incredibly dubious about this one.

But well just have to see eh?

August =

Kermit's game "darn sarth"...

or

Webby's game at Worcester?

Though to be honest I think we've left it too late to get it in with the 3 months prior notice thing...

I reckon Sept/Oct might be a better date to work towards.

If we want another game late in the year (i'd suggest November) then a late August to mid September game makes sense.

If thats the case then we need a site and a date before the end of May.

okay... Kermit... what's the status of your game?

Failing that its Webby's...

I do know Dave Manning quite well so can deal with him direct, but it is Webby's game so it seems wrong to go over his head... I guess if it's his we're going for we need to increase the size of the group by one?

Opinions?

OK, Webby's a friend of mine and we have played together since day one. But I question the wisdom of bringing another member into the group - even harder to get a consensus, another person for whom the game will be no surprise. And to be brutally frank Webby isn't the most stable and good tempered of players. The scenario he proposed wasn't even thought out as far as gameplay went - basically just a chosen battle that could be fitted into the site and a map and will need a lot of work to make it, er, work.

Anyway, I thought we wanted a 'lite' game not one with a lot of graft/time spent on it?

As I've said many times I'd rather we didn't go back to Phoenix this year... lets spread it around a bit.
(Another reason is that I played that wood to death in my first year... with some bad memories being left from it. I'd just rather go somewhere a bit fresher.)

I think the idea of using Dave Manning (DM)'s site is a good one... shame that Webby didn't just suggest it to us rather than go as far as he has as it makes it awkward for us.

I know but the fact that you've played that site a lot is not really the best reason not to have 80 players having a new experience their is it?

I see your point but i reckon it would be ideal for a NWE or Itlay game and i know the layout that well (we both do ) that planning exiting scenarios nisnt difficult.

Add to that we *know* phoenix trust us now and we have an arrangement already established.

Its just an option.

Wait till i've got the pics of the UCAP site next weekend. It's going to be a helluva different game - the pics will show you *just* how different it's going to be. I'll brainstorm some plans for it next week, then stick em up here for you guys to dissect :)

All good stuff .

1 Agree with CW we've debated letting Webby in before and came ot the conclusion it wasn't a good idea.

2 It's not "Webby's" game , it was an idea he proposed . It will be a CiA game if it goes ahead. There's nothing ot stop him being involved with the game planning if we want him to - he can come ot the scenario meeting , but having yet another person in CiA just because he thought of a game idea is a bit daft for all the reasons David lists . We'll be leting Syd in because he built a prop . Too many chefs and all that .

3 Nuetral either way ot playing at Pheonix again , however think the plan was ot not be linked ot a particular site /owner , there's plenty of other sites ot look at before settling on that one . If Yith's sick ot death of playing there ( as I can relate to having overplayed LFU1) lets explore all the other options first .

4 Look forward ot hearing Jays ideas on DAS BUNKER
